Eric Bailly reads the danger well to knock the ball behind with the lively Mo Daramay lurking.

Bailly has probably been Manchester United's best player so far. His alert defending has certainly prevented FC Copenhagen causing a shock.

Bruno Fernandes tries to tee up Marcus Rashford but overhits his ball through the defence and it runs through to Karl-Johan Johnsson in the FC Copenhagen goal.

United's final ball has been disappointing but their build up play is improving.

Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes linking up there [in the build up to Mason Greenwood's shot]... They are beginning to have an impact on the game.

Mason Greenwood's powerful strike catches Andreas Bjelland square in the face before Fred plays a great ball over the defence but it is just out of Marcus Rashford's reach.

United need to get hold of the ball and pass it. Copenhagen are pressing really aggressively in certain areas but United need to work the back four, who are playing very narrow. With the pace of Martial, Rashford and Greenwood, they can tear this team apart. United just need to step up by 20%. Copenhagen just seem more organised and more up for it.

All action in Dusseldorf but still no goals in Cologne. Manchester United are still looking not quite on it as Bruno Fernandes fires a free kick harmlessly over the bar.

Colin: The MUFC defenders are not good enough on the ball to play out from defence under pressure. Keep getting caught in possession!

The penalty decision is overturned after it is deemed the ball had hit Daley Sinkgraven's shoulder and not his arm.

Good decision, and a good use of VAR.

Confusion as referee Clement Turpin appears to point to award Manchester United a penalty as he points to the spot but, after a delay, it is not given. VAR has a check and instead Harry Maguire is given as offside.

Manchester United need to start concentrating and keeping the ball better. They look miles off it at this moment in time.

Now an Aaron Wan-Bissaka clearance deflects off an FC Copenhagen and almost into the path of Mohamed Daramy but Sergio Romero claims before the forward can pounce.

Manchester United are very, very shaky at the back.

Nathan House: This’ll be controversial but Man United haven’t appeared the better team in the first 10 minutes of any game they’ve played post lockdown.

My word! Chaos in the Manchester United defence as Mohamed Daramy is allowed to twist and turn inside the box, his shot is blocked but still the ball is not cleared properly and another shot comes in from Jens Stage. Again it is blocked on the line before United finally manage to clear.
