  1. CLOSE!published at 20:14 British Summer Time 10 August 2020

    Man Utd 0-0 FC Copenhagen

Massive, massive chance for FC Copenhagen as a cross gets in from the right and Mohamed Daramy is there but his touch towards goal from six yards is well-covered by Eric Bailly. Good defending.

I do like this format of a knock-out tournament. It takes away the cautious play in two-legged ties.

    Man Utd 0-0 FC Copenhagen

Another set piece opportunity for Manchester United as they win a free kick 25 yards from goal. Marcus Rashford steps up but drags his shot disappointingly wide.

Manchester United are in control, however, and it feels like only a matter of time before we see a goal.

  4. Postpublished at 20:08 British Summer Time 10 August 2020

    Man Utd 0-0 FC Copenhagen

Another corner for Manchester United is this time sent long by Bruno Fernandes for Harry Maguire, but the defender is adjudged to have fouled his marker as he jumped to direct a header at goal.

  5. Postpublished at 20:06 British Summer Time 10 August 2020

    Inter Milan 0-0 Bayer Leverkusen

Chance for a quick opener for Inter Milan as a mistake at the back gives Romelu Lukaku a momentary sight of goal but a defender pops up out of nowhere to get a block in just in time.

  6. Postpublished at 20:05 British Summer Time 10 August 2020

    Man Utd 0-0 FC Copenhagen

An early corner for Manchester United comes to nothing as Bruno Fernandes' delivery is headed away.

FC Copenhagen are not set up just to defend, though. They've got a high line and a fast attack and will look to catch Manchester United out quickly on the break.

It is 9pm in Cologne and the temperature is a pretty stifling 32 degrees Celsius.

It will be interesting to see who adapts better to the hot conditions.

    Almost time for kick off.

  11. Late change for Leverkusenpublished at 19:55 British Summer Time 10 August 2020

Inter Milan v Bayer Leverkusen (20:00 BST)

A late change for Bayer Leverkusen as Sven Bender has picked up an injury in the warm up.

Jonathan Tah is going to start in his place.

FC Copenhagen beat Istanbul Basaksehir in the last 16 to reach the quarter-finals

FC Copenhagen are in uncharted waters.

This is their first ever European quarter-final appearance, while they are the first Danish side to reach a major European quarter-final since Brondby IF in the 1996-97 Uefa Cup.

Brondby IF are also the only Danish side to reach a major European semi-final, achieving that feat in the 1990-91 Uefa Cup.

Richard Browne: I think it seems rather evident that Sancho is in no rush to go to Old Trafford. Why would he be?

  14. 'Sancho is worth the wait'published at 19:49 British Summer Time 10 August 2020

Man Utd v FC Copenhagen (20:00 BST)

You go for the player that will make the difference. If that's worth waiting an extra three or four weeks and is an extra £20 million... it might be worth the wait and all the media scrutiny over the next couple of weeks. I don't think there's a more exciting right-winger out there at the moment than Jadon Sancho.

Manchester United are looking to reach only their second European semi-final since Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement in 2013.

They last did so in 2016-17 when they went on to win the Europa League under Jose Mourinho.

  16. 'Sancho position needed for a while'published at 19:44 British Summer Time 10 August 2020

Man Utd v FC Copenhagen (20:00 BST)

    Darren Fletcher
Former Man Utd midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

It's £120 million for one player. It's a position Manchester United have needed for a while - a natural right-winger. If you take into account his age, his ability and the potential for him to be at the club for years and become an icon at the club, he's one of the players who doesn't have a discount after covid-19.

  18. 'We can beat a team like Inter'published at 19:38 British Summer Time 10 August 2020

Inter Milan v Bayer Leverkusen (20:00 BST)

Bayer Leverkusen carry a strong attacking threat in Europe. They have have only failed to score in one of their last 12 Europa League matches.

They have, though, kept just four clean sheets in that run - not ideal for the Germans as they prepare to face one of the competition's most in form strikers in Romelu Lukaku.

"I don't fear any opponent," Leverkusen coach Peter Bosz said. "We know that Inter are a good team but we can beat a team like them.

"We have to play very well ourselves and we can't afford to make many mistakes. Our team has gained a lot of experience recently, so I'm confident it will be a good game."

  19. Slick stuffpublished at 19:35 British Summer Time 10 August 2020

If Manchester United beat FC Copenhagen then they could play Wolves in the semi-finals, although the latter need to overcome five-time Europa League winners Sevilla first.

I missed this from a few days ago but I love that Adama Traore apparently gets lathered, external in baby oil pre-match to stop opponents grabbing hold of him.
