You can see the recovery runs of the West Ham players. They're getting eight players back behind the ball. Recovery runs are so important.

Our two shots on target both came before the end of the third minute. Bus parked.

West Ham have not been in the positions to test David de Gea. They're defending very well, though - they're compact and with good structure. Manchester United need to up the tempo, move the ball a bit quicker, there's too many touches.

  4. CLOSE!published at 23 mins

    Manchester United 0-0 West Ham

The closest we've come to a goal - but the flag is up anyway. Timothy Fosu-Mensah is well off actually before flashing in a low cross that just needed a touch on its way in.

Drinks break/tactical time out. A point today would categorically ensure West Ham's safety and theyre 25% of the way there.

Michail Antonio is nominally West Ham's centre forward but he drifts out to old familiar turf on the right wing and wins the Hammers a corner. Good territory if nothing else. The corner nearly causes a problem actually but Harry Maguire clears his station well.

If I'm honest I thought Fosu-Mensah had left Old Trafford years ago until he popped up the other day. He's not looked out of place at right-back though.

It was a big decision by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to select Timothy Fosu-Mensah ahead of Aaron Wan-Bissaka this evening.

It is evident though that when Manchester United push forward, their full-backs push up the flanks with Nemanja Matic taking up a holding role.

First misplaced touch from Bruno Fernandes since he signed? Marcus Rashford plays a cracking ball over the top from the left, Bruno has gone and sprung the offside trap, he brings it down but his second touch is errant and knocks it out of play. Big chance if he could have tamed that.

What a ball from Aaron Cresswell. The ball bounces level with the back post in the six-yard box, it's a wonderful cross.

Utility man Michail Antonio has had some run post lockdown and he now wins a free-kick on the edge of the area for the Hammers. Decent chance - but it goes right through the goalmouth and out the other side from Aaron Cresswell.

Pretty much a flat back nine for West Ham as they soak up lengthy United possession. No way through at the moment though, it's well drilled stuff.

    Man Utd 0-0 West Ham

By their standards, two victories on the trot is impressive for West Ham this season.

They have not managed that in the Premier League since August.

If they don't lose, it would be three unbeaten, which would be their best run since September.

Good strong run down the right from Jarrod Bowen but he runs out of room in the end thanks to diligent tracking from Brandon Williams. Best of West Ham to date.

And another - more comfortable this time as Mason Greenwood gets a shot away from the ege of the box but another save required. Issa Diop is down and needs to be looked at, but the Hammers defender is OK.

  15. GREAT SAVE!published at 3 mins

    Manchester United 0-0 West Ham

It's the first save of the day and a good one too, Anthony Martial was up there on his own but with a difficult angle on his hands he still generated plenty of ooomph behind the shot and Lukasz Fabianski is away to his right to make the sprawling save. Good stop.

Good attacking move from the hosts with Paul Pogba and Mason Greenwood doing much of the heavy lifting. Greenwood actually could have got a shot away but tried to find Anthony Martial, and he was offside.

David de Gea is followed all the way from centre-circle to his goal by a cameraman, right up in his face. De Gea touches the crossbar for luck, with a huge quote on the seats behind the middle of his net saying 'football is nothing without fans.'

Which seems a bit odd to put up at games where there are no fans.
