That Chelsea goal makes things a little bit interesting but you feel there are more goals to come from Liverpool. Chelsea are vulnerable and they have switched off at times.
Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Anfield
Not much of one given the way Liverpool played for the last 25 minutes of that half but a lifeline all the same.
Chelsea were actually the better team in the early stages but Liverpool stepped it up a gear and it was one-way traffic until that Olivier Giroud goal.
Just about 15 minutes or so left in the Championship season and we still don't know who will be joining Leeds in playing at Anfield next term.
Do yourselves a favour and check it out here.

Chris Owens: If ever a goal summed up Chelsea's season defensively, that third goal was it. Dreadful.
JB: Chelsea buying attackers when they CLEARLY need defenders and a better goalkeeper!
Liverpool 3-1 Chelsea
Olivier Giroud (45 mins)
Alisson is unlucky! What a good half.
Marcos Alonso touches on a cross from the left which Willian hammers at agoal. He's only about six yards out but Alisson gets a massive hand to it, pushing it up into the sky.
Olivier Giroud gets himself goalside of the defence though and is able to stretch and hook a volley over the line.
Liverpool 3-0 Chelsea
It's been ruthless from Liverpool, who have scored with pretty much every half chance they've had. That's why we're champions, their fans may say.
Chelsea have looked decent for 80% of the pitch. But their top-four chances are looking tougher now.

I wasn't expecting this. You look at Chelsea's performance against Manchester United in the FA Cup semi-final, they look really sorry for themselves here.
Georginio Wijnaldum (43 mins)
Pick that one out! Kepa doesn't dive again but I'm being mischievious there, he was never going to save that.
A Liverpool corner is nodded on by Olivier Giroud, it strikes Mason Mount on the hand and as a few players start to appeal for a penalty Gini Wijnaldum crunches the ball into the roof of the net on the half volley.
Clean strike. Champions.

Francesca Gunn: "Does Kepa know how to dive for a ball? He always just stands there with those type of goals. I mean at least try! Seriously need to sell him.
Liverpool 2-0 Chelsea
Trent Alexander-Arnold has scored three direct free-kicks in the PL; only Jamie Redknapp (4) scored more at the age of 21 or under in the competition.
Kepa took two sort of crab-like steps to his left and then stopped. He just was not going to get to it.

Kepa does not move - his feet are planted and he does not dive. That's magnificent technique by Trent Alexander-Arnold. It's just the range he likes. We have seen two magnificent goals from Liverpool.

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard was very unhappy with the free-kick that led to Trent Alexander-Arnold's goal. Had a lengthy verbal altercation with the Liverpool bench, particularly assistant Pep Ljinders.

Keeper? Kepa? He's been beaten from range twice, both great strikes but you can't concede a free-kick these days without someone blaming you.
Trent Alexander-Arnold (38 mins)
And that is an absolute pearler - again! It's getting to the point where you expect Trent Alexander-Arnold to do this.
From that free-kick, central and about 25 yards out, the England right-back steps up and pings it over the wall and into the top corner. Kepa didn't move.
Liverpool 1-0 Chelsea
Mateo Kovacic is booked for bringing down Sadio Mane and the Chelsea players are furious about that. Here's why, he's gone down in about five instalments.
It all kicks off on the benches too.
