    Liverpool 1-0 Chelsea

It's not going to be dull on Sunday, put it that way. Chelsea are still looking slick, Olivier Giroud and Mason Mount combine well on the left but the England youngster cna't get a shot off.

Michael Reid: With Wolves being their last game then Chelsea are in for a real fight for the top-four if they don't salvage something here.

Paul: Chelsea might not get top four at all. If they lose here then lose at home to Wolves on the final day which could easily happen then a Leicester/Man Utd draw would have them finishing 5th.

The champions finding their feet now, Mo Salah bursts away from Toni Rudiger on the right of the box and he should cut it back but instead toe-punts it into the side-netting.

Ah, took a deflection. Corner. Gini Wijnaldum has a free header but can only steer it at Kepa.

  4. Imagine the noise if Anfield was fullpublished at 20:45 British Summer Time 22 July 2020

    Stephen Warnock
Ex-Liverpool defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

Imagine what the reaction would have been to Naby Keita's goal if Anfield was full. I jumped out of my seat when it hit the net just because of the sheer quality of the goal.

  5. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 30 mins

    Liverpool 1-0 Chelsea

Sadio Mane is blocked off as he chases another intrictae one-two - there's a definite barge but nothing given by any official either in Merseyside or the VAR bunker.

    Liverpool 1-0 Chelsea

Chelsea had been the better side before that dream of a strike and they still look decent when they attack. But here's the danger, Mo Salah spins away from his man on halfway and it's three on three.

Salah finds Roberto Firmino, who can square it for Sadio Mane - well blocked.

Andy Szpuk: I challenge anyone with fireworks outside Anfield to match that firecracker from Naby Keita.

  8. Keita's super strikepublished at 20:42 British Summer Time 22 July 2020

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Anfield

He's made a very good start and that caps it. Brilliant right foot strike by Naby Keita. Someone's following events from outside judging by the loud blast on a car horn as that one hit the back of the net.

A stunning goal, no question. It's also a goal that is good news for both Leicester and Manchester United.

Wow. What a strike from Naby Keita. I gave him a bit of stick before about his end product but Kepa had no chance. It's a magnificent finish.

GOAL - Liverpool 1-0 Chelseapublished at 20:38 British Summer Time 22 July 2020

    Naby Keita (23 mins)

WHAT a goal! An absolute belter from Naby Keita! Out of nothing, Liverpool lead with their first attempt. Willian gives the ball away, Keita picks it up and drives into a gap in midfield.

He's closed down but just hoses the strike in off the underside of the bar from 20 yards. Fetch that. BANNNNG!

    Hmmmm.

If it stays like this, both of these teams will be in the Champions League next season.

Chelsea are still in it this season, believe it or not. They get to go to Bayern Munich on Saturday 8 August needing a 3-0 win to force extra time.

  14. 'High quality game'published at 20:33 British Summer Time 22 July 2020

    Liverpool 0-0 Chelsea

    Stephen Warnock
Ex-Liverpool defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

It's been a fantastic start. The quality has been high. Chelsea started a bit ragged but have grown into it. It's a real tactical battle because of the formations both teams are playing.

Reece James is allowed to run on goal from his position at right back and he hits a swerver away from goal and just over the top. Good again from the visitors.

    Liverpool 0-0 Chelsea

I've seen reports that the actual fireworks display which Liverpool will let off when they lift the trophy has cost £1m or so. Which will definitely not attract fans to the area.

Willian is almost in bang down the middle of the Liverpool defence but he can't quite bring the ball under control.

  17. Fireworks at Anfieldpublished at 20:29 British Summer Time 22 July 2020

    Liverpool 0-0 Chelsea

    John Murray
BBC Radio 5 Live commentator at Anfield

We have seen a number of fireworks let off by supporters outside the ground. There were probably about 150 supporters waiting for the team bus to arrive.

  18. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 13 mins

    Liverpool 0-0 Chelsea

Good from Mo Salah, running at the Chelsea defence and playing a give and go with Gini Wijnaldum. Toni Rudiger stands his ground and the two collide, but there's no penalty there.

  19. Even start at Anfieldpublished at 20:28 British Summer Time 22 July 2020

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Anfield

Both teams very positive and that was a real chance for Mason Mount. No wonder he looks so disappointed.

Loads of vocal encouragement for each other from both sides - and from the technical areas.

  20. Postpublished at 11 mins

    Liverpool 0-0 Chelsea

I got a lot of grief for suggesting this time last week that it's entirely human nature for Liverpool's players to be 10-20% off their very best once they've wrapped up the title. It is though, isn't it.

And they've started in similar fashion again. Chelsea, as the side with something concrete to play for tonight, are well on top. Again, human nature.
