    Derby 0-0 Leeds

Such is Leeds' dominance in this game, it's taken until this point for Derby to have a proper shot on goal and it comes courtesy of Louie Sibley.

However there's no way that would test Leeds goalkeeper Kiko Casilla, as he slices a shot from 25 yards out.

Jamie Shackleton links up with Tyler Roberts on a quickfire drive for goal after Leeds manage to dispossess Jayden Bogle on the edge of the Derby box as he attempts to play it out from the back.

Roberts' follow-up is fired over the bar, but it's the latest in a string of Leeds chances as they enjoy a lively start.

    Derby 0-0 Leeds

Leeds midfielder Pablo Hernandez tries yet another long-range shot from miles outside the Derby box.

This latest effort is well scooped up by Rams goalkeeper Kelle Roos, who's been kept pretty busy in these opening stages.

    Derby 0-0 Leeds

Tyler Roberts tees up Jamie Shackleton to try his luck with a shot in the box and it's well deflected by Derby's fraught defence.

The ball falls to Barry Douglas, who is a good 25 yards out, and his long-range drive is saved by Rams goalkeeper Kelle Roos.

    Derby 0-0 Leeds

Pablo Hernandez usefully works a one-two just outside the Derby box and quickly toe pokes an audacious effort from the 18-yard line.

That effort from the Leeds man sails over the bar but the visitors are comfortably controlling this game thus far.

Shaun Hewitt: Poor form from Huddersfield. The Cowleys kept us up from an impossible position. Ashamed of the club right now.

Craig Stevenato: Shocked given we stayed up. Hope that the fact we're not taking applications means we're not promoting from within and already have someone else lined up.

Pablo Hernandez and Barry Douglas combine on the left flank and Leeds quickly get a ball into the box following a short corner.

There's an excellent, and audible, thwack as the Rams scramble to clear the ball away.

Still goalless as it stands, but Leeds comfortably in control here.

    Cowley sacked by Huddersfield

While there's a break in play, more on the surprising news that Huddersfield have sacked boss Danny Cowley after 10 months in charge.

The Terriers appointed Cowley, and brother Nicky as his assistant, at the start of September after a disastrous start to the campaign following relegation from the Premier League had left them with just one point from their opening six matches.

The former Lincoln boss helped the club end a run of 20 games without victory with a 1-0 win over fellow strugglers Stoke on 1 October and by the end of that month they had moved out of the Championship's relegation zone.

They fell back into the bottom three after the restart in June but an unlikely 2-1 win over promotion-chasing West Bromwich Albion on Friday secured safety.

Town are now searching for a fourth full-time boss since January 2019, and have said they are not seeking applications for the role.

Below is a clip of Cowley's last post-match interview as Town boss from Friday.

    Derby 0-0 Leeds

There's a break in play as Derby winger Tom Lawrence receives some treatment after going to ground following what seemed a reasonably tame challenge for the ball.

It looks like Lawrence's afternoon is over and he's being helped from the field with his right arm in a sling.

Not the start Phillip Cocu's side will have wanted.

In a statement, Huddersfield chairman Phil Hodgkinson said: "I would like to place my thanks on record to Danny and Nicky for their hard work and dedication towards securing the club’s place in the Championship for next season. That was the clear priority when they were appointed in September and we are very grateful that has been achieved.

"We all wish Danny and Nicky all the best for the future and they leave with my best wishes in their future endeavours.

"However, we have made this decision in the belief that, in the long term, it is in the best interests of the club as we move forward.

"We have a different vision for the way we operate the club, and how our ambitions can be achieved."
