Quote MessagePoor first half from the home side. Much better in the second. They haven't shown enough fire in the belly to win the game
A very good win at a difficult away ground for Rangers. They weren't scintillating but the better team by a distance.
Ryan Kent's composed finish in the first half seals it.
Aberdeen weren't at the races until late on, and Andy Considine's desperate lunge, which got him sent off, about sums up their afternoon.

Quote MessageWhat a challenge from Ash Taylor. It was almost 2-0 there
Aberdeen 0-1 Rangers
What a block by Ash Taylor! Scott Arfield slides in Joe Aribo, whose shot beats Joe Lewis but not Aberdeen's centre-back who hooks it clear.
Aberdeen 0-1 Rangers
Alfredo Morelos is penalised in the corner of the pitch, and Jonny Hayes has had a little kick out at him there.
Very naughty, but it goes unnoticed.

Quote MessageFor me, no arguments, that's a straight red
Aberdeen 0-1 Rangers
Lewis Ferguson now body-checks Connor Goldson who needs treatment. Bit bruising out there!
Studs up, over the ball. Straight red all day long.
Considine was just desperate to get the ball there - and he did get it - but it's a dangerous lunge and Scott Arfield needs some magic spray afterwards.
That might be that.
Aberdeen 0-1 Rangers
Joe Aribo is lining up a shot before being crowded out and nothing comes from the resulting corner.
The game is opening up in the closing stages but the quality is lacking.
Aberdeen 0-0 Rangers
Ryan Edmondson does well to hold up the ball, he's got something about him.
Ryan Hedges makes a good run down the right and finds Niall McGinn in the box, but his shot is blocked. Aberdeen are looking a lot better.
But have they left it too late?
Aberdeen 0-1 Rangers
Ianis Hagi slides in Alfredo Morelos whose low shot across goal takes a deflection off Ash Taylor and out for a corner.
Nice stuff from Rangers. Hagi has been replaced by Scott Arfield.
Meanwhile at the corner, Ryan Edmondson clears and flattens Connor Goldson in the process. Ouch.

Quote MessageRangers look a bit heavy legged. Steven Gerrard must be thinking about a substitution
Aberdeen 0-1 Rangers
Ryan Edmondson makes an impact with a good run into the channel, and he wins a corner off James Tavernier. It's taken quickly and Ash Taylor's header trickles wide.
Aberdeen 0-1 Rangers
Dean Campbell replaces Craig Bryson in the middle of the pitch for Aberdeen, while Niall McGinn is also on for Matty Kennedy.
Can they find an equaliser? They've been better in the second half. But still not very good.
Rangers haven't gone up a gear, and could do with a second goal as a cushion.
Aberdeen 0-1 Rangers
Ianis Hagi fires one towards goal and it takes a deflection off Scott McKenna and whistles inches past the post.
A close one.
Aberdeen 0-1 Rangers
'An absolute brute' is how Neil McCann has just described Ryan Edmondson in commentary. He is a big lad.
Leeds loanee Ryan Edmondson comes on up front in place of Bruce Anderson, who has had pretty much no service to work with.

BBC Sport Scotland at Pittodrie
New Aberdeen loan signing Ryan Edmondson is warming up in front of me. Wonder if he will get the shout. He’s a big lad - will present the Rangers defence with very different challenges to that of Bruce Anderson up front.
