Funso Ojo has a pop from distance for Aberdeen but Allan McGregor gets down comfortably to save. At least it's something for the Dons fans in the cherry-picker to shout about...

That's one novel way to see your team in action...

That was a tad embarrassing for Ianis Hagi. A surging break forward lets Joe Aribo glide down the left, and when he finds Hagi in the box the Romanian tries a backheel but fluffs his lines.
Aribo is a really classy footballer, though.
Aberdeen 0-1 Rangers
Joe Lewis plucks an awkward header from Joe Aribo out of the sky.
Aberdeen's plan of keeping it tight has just gone out of the window...
Aberdeen 0-1 Rangers
Rangers had 80% of possession in those opening 20 minutes. Reward for their dominance.

Quote MessageWhat a cool finish. Alfredo Morelos came short. Ryan Kent timed his run perfectly. It's a super ball from Morelos. It's a brilliant finish. You can't say it's not deserved
Ryan Kent
We have our first goal!
So simple, but brilliantly done. Alfredo Morelos slides through Kent, and the former Liverpool forward speeds through and calmly slots it past Joe Lewis. Great composure.
Aberdeen 0-0 Rangers
James Tavernier whips in an in-swinger from a corner and Joe Lewis charges out of his goal and gets just enough on it.
The next corner is taken short, and when Hagi gets it back his cross hits the side netting.
More action please.
Aberdeen 0-0 Rangers
Aberdeen come to life (kind of). Matty Kennedy drives down the left wing, but James Tavernier marshals him closely and Rangers recover possession after Jonny Hayes' touch lets him down.
All a bit pedestrian.
Aberdeen 0-0 Rangers
Willie Miller
Former Scotland defender on BBC Sportsound
Quote MessageAberdeen need to do better in possession. If they let this go on, they'll be chasing shadows
Aberdeen 0-0 Rangers
Aberdeen defender Ash Taylor has to dive to block Joe Aribo's low shot inside the area.
It was a good cross from left-back Borna Barisic as Aberdeen gift possession in midfield.
Aberdeen 0-0 Rangers
Rangers are committing a lot of bodies forward, but it's a bit slow and Aberdeen have stood up to the test.
Whenever the hosts get the ball, they're mobbed by a white shirt and lose it, though.
Rangers pass up the chance to get a ball into the box from a free-kick in a central area by taking it quickly and their attack breaks down.
Aberdeen 0-0 Rangers

BBC Sport Scotland at Pittodrie
Former Wigan centre-half Leon Balogun looks a really big physical presence for Rangers. Also very comfortable on the ball moving forward
Aberdeen 0-0 Rangers
Ooft, Connor Goldson sends a pearler of a ball behind the Aberdeen defence which Ryan Kent can't quite get to before Joe Lewis.
Nice move by the visitors, a bit of a fright for the Aberdeen defence.
Aberdeen 0-0 Rangers
Bit like a training game so far...
Rangers midfielder Joe Aribo shifts the ball to Alfredo Morelos inside the box, but the Colombian's cross is blocked. First real bit of action.
Neil McCann
Former Rangers winger on BBC Sportsound
Quote MessageIt looks like Alfredo Morelos has bulked up. That could be muscle because he is still a young man. He certainly looks a bit bigger than he was last season.
Aberdeen 0-0 Rangers
Rangers are stroking the ball about and testing Aberdeen's shape, which is standing firm at the moment.
Pretty slow start, which is to be expected!
Aberdeen 0-0 Rangers
We're off, football is BACK!
