  1. Can either team gain the upper hand?published at 18:50 British Summer Time 11 August 2020

    Dundee United 0-0 Hibernian

We have four minutes of injury time.

  2. YELLOW CARDpublished at 18:49 British Summer Time 11 August 2020

    Dundee United 0-0 Hibernian

Mark Reynolds hauls down Kevin Nisbet a yard outside the United box having been nutmegged by the Hibs striker just short of the goalline. Nice skill by Nisbet but wily Reynolds knew when to tug his arm to halt the attack.

  3. Free-kick practice requiredpublished at 18:47 British Summer Time 11 August 2020

    Dundee United 0-0 Hibernian

Nicky Clark is given the honours for United's next free-kick, which this time is more central but about 28 yards from the target. The striker shows his frustration as he curls an effort a couple of feet over the Hibs crossbar. Hmm, this is disappointing. So many free-kicks, so many stoppages.

  4. Clark in the mixpublished at 18:43 British Summer Time 11 August 2020

    Dundee United 0-0 Hibernian

Nicky Clark resembled his father Sandy there, the way he rose to flick on the high ball. The United striker wasn't supported, though, and Ofir Marciano gets a rare touch of the ball as he scoops it up. Moments later United win a free-kick 22 yards out - Clark's effort is diverted over the bar by Josh Doig.

  5. Allan the man to unpick United?published at 18:39 British Summer Time 11 August 2020

I wouldn't be surprised if Scott Allan makes an appearance early in the second half

  6. United in defencepublished at 18:38 British Summer Time 11 August 2020

    Dundee United 0-0 Hibernian

Hibs' final ball has indeed been disappointing but the United defence is well organised, with skipper Mark Reynolds ably assisted by Mark Connolly and Ryan Edwards, the latter making his debut.

Hibs have been getting themselves into good positions in the last few minutes, but that final ball is letting them down

  8. 'Hibs need another midfielder in there'published at 18:34 British Summer Time 11 August 2020

    Dundee United 0-0 Hibernian

    Michael Stewart
Former Scotland midfielder on BBC Sportsound

    Quote Message

Hibs need to play quicker and they need more options on the ball. For me, they need another midfielder in there rather than two strikers up top. Hibs are playing the game United want them to play

  9. Hibs pin United backpublished at 18:33 British Summer Time 11 August 2020

    Dundee United 0-0 Hibernian

Credit to Hibs for continuing to attack, albeit with zero return so far. Christian Doidge does really well to chest the ball down at the edge of the box to continue the move. The ball is played out to Josh Doig on the left side of the box but his shot is blocked at close range.

  10. YELLOW CARDpublished at 18:30 British Summer Time 11 August 2020

    Dundee United 0-0 Hibernian

Hibs move the ball about from left to right and back again, trying to move the United defence out of position. However, when Josh Doig crosses for Daryl Horgan, the ball bounces on to his shoulder and United seize upon the poor control to break at pace. Enter Hibs' midfield enforcer Alex Gogic to scythe down the unfortunate Nicky Clark and earn himself a booking.

  11. 'United nullifying Hibs'published at 18:25 British Summer Time 11 August 2020

    Dundee United 0-0 Hibernian

    Michael Stewart
Former Scotland midfielder on BBC Sportsound

    Quote Message

Dundee United have nullified Hibs in this opening spell. They are outnumbering them in the middle and the wing-backs are getting back into shape quickly

  12. YELLOW CARDpublished at 18:25 British Summer Time 11 August 2020

    Dundee United 0-0 Hibernian

Joe Newell is booked by Don Robertson for a petulant, lazy foul on Nicky Clark as he raced clear of him in the centre circle. No complaints from the Hibs midfielder.

  13. Doig seizes initiativepublished at 18:23 British Summer Time 11 August 2020

    Dundee United 0-0 Hibernian

Josh Doig makes a bold move down the left flank for Hibs, cuts inside on to his right foot and thunders a shot at the United goal but the 18-year-old's effort is well wide of the target.

  14. Stop-start at Tannadicepublished at 18:20 British Summer Time 11 August 2020

    Dundee United 0-0 Hibernian

With a third of the first half gone, it's been a bit stop-start with fouls and injuries interrupting the flow. Unfortunately, there have been no goal chances to bring you, but there must surely be goals in this game. Surely.

  15. Boyle's fallpublished at 18:17 British Summer Time 11 August 2020

    Dundee United 0-0 Hibernian

Hibs forward Martin Boyle works his way in from the right touchline and falls to the turf. The referee views it as a foul when it looked like he merely tripped himself up. From the ensuing free-kick Joe Newell swings in the ball but it's easy peasy for Swiss keeper Benjamin Siegrist to collect.

  16. Robson offpublished at 18:13 British Summer Time 11 August 2020

    Dundee United 0-0 Hibernian

United's Jamie Robson is booked as he walks off gingerly to be subbed for Adrian Sporle. He really flew into that aerial challenge. Paul McGinn continues and thankfully both players look like they will be OK.

  17. 'Nasty collision'published at 18:10 British Summer Time 11 August 2020

    Dundee United 0-0 Hibernian

    Jon Daly
Former Hearts forward and coach on BBC Sportsound

You could see the coming together was going to happen as soon as they jumped. It was a nasty collision

  18. Play stopped by collisionpublished at 18:10 British Summer Time 11 August 2020

    Dundee United 0-0 Hibernian

Oh, my goodness. There has been an awful collision between United's Jamie Robson and Hibs defender Paul McGinn.

  19. 'Hibs midfield will need support'published at 18:07 British Summer Time 11 August 2020

    Dundee United 0-0 Hibernian

    Michael Stewart
Former Scotland midfielder on BBC Sportsound

    Quote Message

The middle of the park is where I think Hibs are weakest, they are going to be outnumbered there. They'll need support

  20. Too much porridge this morning?published at 18:06 British Summer Time 11 August 2020

    Dundee United 0-0 Hibernian

Peter Pawlett takes the first corner of the game but the United midfielder smacks it with too much gusto and Hibs have a throw-in deep in their own half.
