Dundee United manager Micky Mellon: "It's great to have the opportunity to play football again. It's a great night, a fantastic pitch and it's live on TV. We'll approach every game trying to get a result. The league table will look after itself.

"[On player discipline around Covid-19 restrictions] I don't have any problems here. To be fair, there are grey areas. They are a good group of professionals. We're getting to know what we can and can't do. We treat them like adults. They need to ask the question and we would find out for them."

"But we have a clear understanding of how we've achieved the previous victories.

"It would be difficult to make any changes from the weekend, but if we felt the need to we would've, so the team we've picked is the team we believe can win the game tonight."

  9. The rise of Kevin Nisbetpublished at 17:52 British Summer Time 11 August 2020

    Dundee United v Hibernian (18:00)

Following Hibernian's announcement that they would be making cuts across the club to save money because of the coronavirus pandemic, the triple signing of Kevin Nisbet, Drey Wright and Alex Gogic last month may have raised a few eyebrows.

However, two games in to the Scottish Premiership season and already one player has shone for Jack Ross's side - striker Nisbet. His hat-trick on Saturday in the 4-1 away win over Livingston suggested the 23-year-old's eye for goal has not been lost in his move from Dunfermline to Easter Road.

Stefan Bienkowski has charted Nisbet's rise to the Premiership summit from Partick Thistle's Weir Youth Academy.

    Dundee United v Hibernian (18:00)

My colleague Al Lamont is a man who does his research and tonight's match commentator on BBC Scotland's Sportscene has been leafing through dusty books in his loft to find out when Hibs last won their opening three league matches in the top tier. Al reckons it was back in season 1974/75 - the last time Celtic were going for 10 titles in a row. Good stat, huh?

  12. Livi couldn't contain Nisbetpublished at 17:42 British Summer Time 11 August 2020

    Dundee United v Hibernian (18:00)

Hibernian's last match was at the Tony Macaroni Arena on Saturday. Livi conceded only eight goals at home last season in the Premiership, but Kevin Nisbet scored three times in West Lothian as Hibs won 4-1. United have been served a warning.

  17. 'Consider today the yellow card'published at 17:32 British Summer Time 11 August 2020

    Dundee United v Hibernian (18:00)

On the Boli Bolingoli incident, following the revelation that eight Aberdeen players had been on a night out to the pub on the opening day of the season, First Minister Nicola Sturgeon's patience with Scottish football snapped.

At her daily briefing earlier earlier today, the First Minister said that "as a minimum, you should not be expecting to see Aberdeen or Celtic play in the coming week."

Ms Sturgeon added: "Consider today the yellow card. The next time it will be the red card because you will leave us with absolutely no choice."
