  2. Nice for Ricepublished at 17:20 British Summer Time 22 August 2020

    Dundee United v Celtic (17:30)

Hamilton head coach Brian Rice: "We were brave in the second half and threw three young kids on. I felt in the second half there was a goal coming. I could feel the belief in the players. The young players gave us fresh legs after the others had done the hard work. I hope they enjoy their weekend. It's a derby match - they are special games to win. I'm so delighted for everybody in there [the changing room] and all the Hamilton fans."

  3. Griffiths absent for another two weekspublished at 17:18 British Summer Time 22 August 2020

    Dundee United v Celtic (17:30)

Celtic manager Neil Lennon will once more make do without striker Leigh Griffiths, whose calf injury will keep him sidelined for two more weeks.

The Scotland star has scored 115 goals in 233 appearances since moving to Celtic in January 2014. Having turned 30 on Thursday, and with headlines about his lifestyle off the field never far away, he is at a bit of a crossroads in his career.

My colleague Martin Watt has been looking at what might lie ahead for Griffiths.

  4. Lawrence the Arabpublished at 17:16 British Summer Time 22 August 2020

    Dundee United v Celtic (17:30)

Dundee United striker Lawrence Shankland remains absent with what his manager Micky Mellon describes as a "niggly injury".

A regular scorer for Ayr United prior to his move to Tayside, Shankland scored 28 goals in 33 appearances last season as United won the Championship at a canter.

On Thursday, Mellon pooh-poohed the notion that the 24-year-old could be distracted by reported interest by French League 2 side Guingamp.

"It's not a distraction because I've had nothing to be distracted about," he said, insisting no club had been in touch regarding the centre forward.

  5. Celtic playing catch-uppublished at 17:11 British Summer Time 22 August 2020

    Dundee United v Celtic (17:30)

Well now. Celtic are nine points off the top of the Premiership following this afternoon's win for Rangers.

The champions travel to Tannadice as favourites but United are ticking along pretty well under Micky Mellon, having won 2-1 away to County last weekend. They are on seven points from four games, their sole defeat a 1-0 home loss to Hibs.

Celtic, thanks to defender Boli Bolingoli's ill-judged 24-hour trip to Spain and subsequent failure to quarantine, are playing catch-up with their matches. They have played three games fewer than their Old Firm rivals. Neil Lennon's side will have the bit between their teeth, you'd imagine.

  6. Three United changes; Ntcham starts for Celticpublished at 17:07 British Summer Time 22 August 2020

    Dundee United v Celtic (17:30)

There's still no sign of injury-hit Lawrence Shankland in the United squad as Nicky Clark is restored to the line-up to lead the attack.

Striker Clark - who takes the place of Louis Appere - is one of three changes from last week's 2-1 win at Ross County.

Left wing-back Adrian Sporle drops out for Jamie Robson, while Kieran Freeman makes way for 17-year-old Lewis Neilson in the back three.

Celtic midfielder Olivier Ntcham makes his first start of the season and Jeremie Frimpong returns at right-back.

Hatem Elhamed and James Forrest are the players sacrificed from Celtic's 6-0 Champions League stroll over KR Reykjavik in midweek.

    Dundee United v Celtic (17:30)

We'll bring you some reaction from Ibrox, St Mirren Park and Fir Park but our focus now switches to Tannadice, where Celtic are the visitors.

My colleague Keir Murray is warming up to guide you through the game.

  9. FULL-TIME St Mirren 1-1 Ross Countypublished at 16:55 British Summer Time 22 August 2020

All square in Paisley... St Mirren were going well until Joe Shaugnessy's red card.

There was a big slice of luck involved in the equaliser but County finished the game by far the stronger side.

  11. FULL-TIME Rangers 2-0 Kilmarnockpublished at 16:53 British Summer Time 22 August 2020

Two going on three or four in the end for Rangers but it was frustrating for them until Kemar Roofe got the opener.

Ryan Kent excelled and was rewarded with the second goal.

Poor from Kilmarnock, who offered little in attack. Not a single shot on target.

  12. Off the line at Ibroxpublished at 16:53 British Summer Time 22 August 2020

    Rangers 2-0 Kilmarnock

A frantic moment in the Kilmarnock penalty are end with Rangers substitute Greg Stewart steering the ball on target but it's cleared off the line by former Ibrox defender Kirk Broadfoot.

  13. FULL-TIME Motherwell 0-1 Hamiltonpublished at 16:50 British Summer Time 22 August 2020

Hamilton Accies are off the mark with their first points of the season and they leapfrog Motherwell, who are still waiting for that first win.

The home side dominated the midfield for long spells but it all kind of fizzled out in the final third.

Hakeem Odoffin grabbed the late winning goal, just moments after an unbelievable miss in front of goal.

  14. Itten making an impressionpublished at 16:45 British Summer Time 22 August 2020

    Rangers 2-0 Kilmarnock

Cedir Itten wants in on the action and he blasts in a shot that slips wide. He has looked much better in the second half having been moved to a central position.

  15. goal

GOAL Motherwell 0-1 Hamiltonpublished at 16:42 British Summer Time 22 August 2020

Hamilton are on their way to their first win of the season. Moments after that howler of a miss from close range, Hakeem Odoffin dives to head Reegan Mimnaugh's near-post corner past Trevor Carson. What a change in this match.

  16. Accies' golden chancepublished at 16:42 British Summer Time 22 August 2020

    Motherwell 0-0 Hamilton Academical

On the edge of the six-yard box Shaun Want flicks a corner kick into the path of Hakeem Odoffin who somehow glances the ball wide of a gaping goal with an awkward flick of his shin.

The poor fella looks like he's in shock.

Ryan Kent has been threatening it all day and now he has a goal.

James Tavernier's shot is blocked and when the ball arrives back at the Rangers captain, he squares to Kent and the winger passes the ball into the net.

  19. Hamilton almost nick the leadpublished at 16:32 British Summer Time 22 August 2020

    Motherwell 0-0 Hamilton Academical

Hamilton have the wind in their sails for a spell and almost make the breakthrough.

Motherwell goalkeeper Trevor Carson uses his right foot to stub out Ross Callachan's attempt. The Accies player just couldn't quite get a proper shot away and only half-hit it from close range.

  20. goal

GOAL St Mirren 1-1 Ross Countypublished at 16:30 British Summer Time 22 August 2020

    Nathan Sheron own goal

Ross County goalImage source, BBC Sport

It's a goal that's been coming since the home side went down to 10 men.

Michael Gardyne's volley is deflected once then takes a further ricochet off Nathan Sheron before going into the net.
