Just as it looked like the away side were taking a grip on the game, St Mirren take the lead!

Kyle McAllister does well to drive at the County defence but it looks like Michael Gardyne might have stopped the winger. However, the ball breaks for Jamie McGrath who is able to stab it forward towards Jon Obika with his back to goal and the striker turns and finishes well into the bottom corner.

  2. Templeton busy with cornerspublished at 15:12 British Summer Time 22 August 2020

    Motherwell 0-0 Hamilton Academical

Accies win a third corner in a row as Motherwell defend a series of in-swinging set pieces. David Templeton opts to drive the third and the hosts head clear.

Both sides are having their moments in terms of possession but no clear-cut chances to talk about.

  3. Quiet so far at Ibroxpublished at 15:10 British Summer Time 22 August 2020

    Rangers 0-0 Kilmarnock

Ryan Kent has an effort from long range for Rangers but it's a straightforward catch for Kilmarnock goalkeeper Danny Rogers.

The hosts have had plenty of the ball so far but are yet to really test Killie.

  4. Hearts suffer Souttar injury blowpublished at 15:09 British Summer Time 22 August 2020

Hearts say defender John Souttar has suffered a "relapse" in his recovery from an achilles injury.

The 23-year-old Scotland international ruptured his achilles tendon against Rangers in January, having previously spent nine months out with the same injury.

  5. Decent start in Lanarkshire derbypublished at 15:09 British Summer Time 22 August 2020

    Motherwell 0-0 Hamilton Academical

David Templeton is budged off the ball by Motherwell defender Stephen O'Donnell, the stocky little Accies forward falling to the turf. That was probably a "worthwhile" foul because Hamilton were breaking through midfield at pace there.

Motherwell are probing the red-and-white shirted visitors, with David Turnbull finding space for himself and then Sherwin Seedorf who had run into the box.

  8. St Mirren 'need to do a bit more on the front foot'published at 15:00 British Summer Time 22 August 2020

St Mirren v Ross County (15:00)

St Mirren boss Jim Goodwin has been satisfied with his side's start to the season.

"To have six points from opening three games is best we could have hoped for," he tells BBC Sportsound.

"But we need to do a bit more on the front foot. I've been really impressed with Ross County, they are a really good footballing team, I do believe we have good attacking players of our own though."

  9. Rice looking for Accies' fighting spiritpublished at 14:57 British Summer Time 22 August 2020

    Motherwell v Hamilton Academical (15:00)

Hamilton head coach Brian Rice: "I've got to keep my young lads focused and working hard until we get that first point on board. Last week was our best performance so far.

"I am hoping we can get better again today. I know it will be very difficult here. It's a derby match and we're all looking forward to it. It's a wee bit special in the dressing room just now. I'm sensing a togetherness and a fighting spirit and I want to see it on the pitch."

  10. 'Win will kick-start our season' - Robinsonpublished at 14:55 British Summer Time 22 August 2020

    Motherwell v Hamiton Academical (15:00)

Motherwell manager Stephen Robinson says it would "mean a lot" to his side should they end their winless start in today's Lanarkshire derby.

Robinson tells BBC Sportsound: "Victory would kick-start our season. We played very well last week and just didn't get the reward we deserved, so there's no need to change the line-up.

"Because it was against Hibs it was recognised last week. We actually played just as well against Dundee United and Ross County but it went unnoticed because we were expected to win."

  11. County have 'tough nut to crack'published at 14:53 British Summer Time 22 August 2020

St Mirren v Ross County (15:00)

Ross County manager Stuart Kettlewell is under no illusions how tough it will be to break down a resolute St Mirren side in Paisley.

"Today is a game between two teams that have started well," Kettlewell tells BBC Sportsound.

"I've said to our players we are going to have a tough nut to crack.

"Every game we play we are going to try and win. That can leave you exposed at the back but we have guys at the top that can create and score."

  12. Test events to come at Scottish groundspublished at 14:50 British Summer Time 22 August 2020

    Motherwell v Hamilton (15:00)

    Jane Lewis
BBC Sport Scotland at Fir Park

Motherwell chief executive Alan Burrows tells us several clubs have been approached by the Joint Response Group to carry out test events, ahead of a small number of supporters returning to grounds.

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon announced on Thursday that sports stadiums could reopen to fans on 14 September with a "limited number of spectators and with strict physical distancing in place".

And there could be some home fans in attendance in a trial run for Motherwell's visit to Celtic Park next weekend.

However, the Fir Park club has not yet been asked to conduct any tests.

  13. Killie provide keen opposition for Rangerspublished at 14:46 British Summer Time 22 August 2020

    Rangers v Kilmarnock (15:00)

These two met three times in the Premiership last season and there was just one goal separating them on each occasion.

Kilmarnock enjoyed a rousing comeback win at Rugby Park in February, with Eamonn Brophy slamming in a late goal for a 2-1 success.

The last game at Ibrox was on Boxing Day, with Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos, missing today, grabbing the only goal.

The teams met an incredible seven times in the previous campaign, sharing two victories, with three draws thrown in, so they are familiar foes.

Rangers' winning run came unstuck last Sunday when they failed to break down Livingston, while Killie will still be kicking themselves over a late collapse at home to St Johnstone.

  14. Buddies proving hard to beatpublished at 14:43 British Summer Time 22 August 2020

St Mirren v Ross County (15:00)

I'm not sure many would have tipped these two be in the top five at this stage.

St Mirren kept clean sheets in their successes against Motherwell and Hamilton, building on the good organisation manager Jim Goodwin developed last season.

Goals have been an issue for the Paisley side and Goodwin moved to bring in Kristian Dennis this week, describing the 30-year-old Englishman as a "natural finisher".

County's unbeaten start came to an end at home to Dundee United last weekend and manager Stuart Kettlewell will be looking for a response.

  15. No Fir Park fear for neighbours Acciespublished at 14:37 British Summer Time 22 August 2020

    Motherwell v Hamilton Academical (15:00)

These Lanarkshire rivals are at the wrong end of the table, with neither registering a win yet this term.

Accies prop up the Premiership after three successive defeats, while Motherwell followed two losses with two draws.

Stephen Robinson's men were on top for long spells at Easter Road last weekend, but are a bit blunt at the top end of the pitch. Is today the day they break their duck?

Hamilton won on their last visit to Fir Park back in December and have managed one away derby victory in the league in each of the last three seasons.

The neighbouring rivals played a friendly in July, with the score 1-1.

    Quote Message

Alfredo Morelos has been a huge player for Rangers but he's not set the heather alight this calendar year and they need to start looking at alternatives, whether it's competition for places or if he leaves

  19. 'Well unchanged; two tweaks for Hamiltonpublished at 14:21 British Summer Time 22 August 2020

    Motherwell v Hamilton Academical (15:00)

Has Stephen Robinson decided on his best Motherwell starting XI? He is sticking with the same starting line up from the goalless draw against Hibs in Edinburgh a week ago.

Injuries to Ronan Hughes, Brian Easton and Will Collar mean they are still unavailable to Hamilton manager Brian Rice, who has made two changes from the team that lost 1-0 to St Mirren last week.

Lewis Smith and Andy Winter drop to the bench. Marios Ogkmpoe and Justin Johnson came on as second-half subs against St Mirren and they start today.

  20. McCarthy back for Buddies; same again for Countypublished at 14:17 British Summer Time 22 August 2020

St Mirren v Ross County (15:00)

St Mirren manager Jim Goodwin has made just the one change to his side following last weekend's 1-0 win away to Hamilton as Conor McCarthy comes in for Cammy MacPherson.

New striker Kristian Dennis makes the bench after signing from Notts County earlier in the week.

As for Ross County, despite losing last time out at home to Dundee United, manager Stuart Kettlewell has named an unchanged starting line-up.
