Most animated person in the Celtic technical area? Assistant manager John Kennedy.

He's up and down from the bench like a jack in the box, urging his side forward when in possession but also telling them to tighten up at the back and be wary of the threat the Ferencvaros front three can still pose.

    Celtic 1-1 Ferencvaros

Celtic have been so much better since the break. Ryan Christie drives a low shot towards the bottom corner, but it's well saved by Dibusz.

Christopher Jullien then heads over moments later. They've upped the tempo.

  3. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 57 mins

    Celtic 1-1 Ferencvaros

How has that not gone in?!

Olivier Ntcham smashes a volley into the ground and it cracks the under side of the bar and away to safety. It looks to have taken a deflection off the defender on the way through. Crucial.

Torrential rain in the East End of Glasgow; Celtic keen that their Champions League aspirations for the season aren’t wiped out by the deluge.

A shot from Ryan Christie takes a little deflection, Celtic are level, and all of a sudden the outlook is a whole lot brighter. They’re back on level terms and very much afloat still in Europe’s premier competition.

It's brilliant play. The pleasing thing there is Ryan Christie tries to place it, he doesn't try to snatch at it. Much better from Celtic

    Ryan Christie

    It's been coming.

Celtic have been popping it about nicely, but without really threatening. Ryan Christie eventually has a lash, and it deflects off Kovacevic and loops over Dibusz in the Ferencvaros goal.

    Relief for the hosts.

    Celtic 0-1 Ferencvaros

Olivier Ntcham loses the ball, gets it back from Kristoffer Ajer and skins his man, but there's nobody in the box for Celtic to attack his lovely cross.

How long before we see a centre forward? Ferencvaros right-back Botka is down, so we might have a change for the visitors.

  8. Postpublished at 47 mins

    Celtic 0-1 Ferencvaros

Celtic have started with intent. A corner yields a header from Christopher Jullien, but it's blocked by Ferencvaros.

Scott Brown then leaves his studs on Kovacevic, but it's only a talking to for the Celtic captain. Naughty.

We're off again, no changes it seems.

Celtic have 45 minutes to save their Champions League ambitions.

The first 15 minutes Ferencvaros were very good. They were enjoying their night and they were very well organised. Celtic are asking all sorts of questions but not getting the accuracy they need. I think if Ferencvaros do crack Celtic will go on and win this game. You wonder if they will be able to soak this up for another 45 minutes.

There wasn’t much movement in the Celtic dugout during the first-half but I’d imagine Neil Lennon will be very animated indeed in the dressing room right now.

Despite creating quite a few chances the more the half went on, the game plan so far hasn’t worked.

He has no recognised striker but two on the bench; I wonder how long he’ll leave it before introducing Ajeti or Klimala?

Celtic need a goal to take things into extra time, two to get the job done in regulation time.

  15. HALF-TIME - Celtic 0-1 Ferencvarospublished at 20:30 British Summer Time 26 August 2020

An encouraging end to the first-half for Celtic, but their Champions League dreams are in serious danger.

David Siger's long-range strike has Ferencvaros in front, and they've been good value for it on the whole.

This is encouraging from Celtic. They could be doing with another five or six minutes. Half-time is coming at the wrong time. Ferencvaros look as if they are tiring a bit.

It's all Celtic now, the half-time whistle can't come quickly enough for the visitors.

Mohamed Elyounoussi gets free in the box, but his header is too tame. Then Callum McGregor aims for the left corner, but goalkeeper Dibusz makes the save.

  18. CLOSE!published at 41 mins

    Celtic 0-1 Ferencvaros

Mohamed Elyounoussi drives a shot just wide of the left-hand post. It was brilliant play from the Norwegian, as he drove in from the left, skipped past a challenge and fired the ball goalwards.

He has another effort on target almost immediately after, but it's a comfortable save.

Less than minutes to go until half-time, Ferencvaros a goal up and worthy of that lead.

The Hungarians are very well drilled when Celtic have the ball and lightning quick on the break when the hosts lose it.

It’s going to take a big effort from the Scottish champions to get past the visitors tonight.

Plenty of time left, of course, but Neil Lennon’s men haven’t looked particularly threatening, and have no recognised striker on the pitch.
