It's a beautiful day to mark the start of the Premier League season at West Brom.

Given West Ham's struggles last night, it will be interesting to see how West Brom midfielder Grady Diangana does given even Hammers skipper Mark Noble was not happy about the youngster being sold to the club he spent last season on loan with.

And now here come West Brom. I have issues with those stripes but let's leave it at that.

I'm intrigued to see how Slaven gets on, he was great at West Ham for a bit but then they let Payet leave. They'd still probably have him back.

I like Rhian Brewster and he got good experience last year on loan at Swansea from Liverpool. He's got fantastic movement and he's a brilliant finisher.

They've been linked with Troy Deeney at Watford as well but he offers you something not only on the pitch but also in the changing room.

I'd say Brewster is slightly ahead because he's at the point where he wants to step up in the Premier League, he's had a good pre-season with Liverpool and if he was to move to West Brom he'd definitely score goals. If Baggies are smart, they can pick up a really good striker.

Joel Murray: As an #LCFC, external fan I can see us losing ground in the league with few signings to Spurs and Everton, maybe Arsenal too. A lot will depend on yet another 'restart' and who can continue their momentum, or kick start some good form...

Neil Harris: interested that Pat Nevin says Ndidi isn't a centre back. It was his good friend Alex McLeish who converted Ndidi from CB to CM when he was at Genk. Been playing there in pre-season for #LCFC, external because of the CB issues

If ever there was a manager that you'd imagine would love a fly-on-the-wall documentary, it's Jose Mourinho.

    Or Brendan Rodgers.

But no, Jose has had the Amazon cameras on his tail for the best part of a year now. Are his secrets out or can he get Spurs off to a flier?

Everton have won just one of their last 19 Premier League games in London (D7 L11), winning 2-0 at West Ham in March 2019. Only Newcastle (79) have ever lost more Premier League away games in the capital than the Toffees (78).

'Six-pointer' on the opening weekend. Lovely stuff.

With the way Leicester finished the season, this could be a relegation six pointer. They desperately need a result today

Absolutely glorious afternoon at the Hawthorns by the way. A cracking ground which generates a fine atmosphere - usually.

Is it still the highest ground in England? I think so.

  18. 'How long can Leicester stay at the level they are?'published at 13:19 British Summer Time 13 September 2020

West Brom v Leicester (14:00 BST)

    Pat Nevin
Former Chelsea and Scotland winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

It's a tough one for Leicester. Over the years, you look at all the quality that's left. Ben Chillwell was a recent one to leave, Harry Maguire last season and you go back to Ngolo Kante and Riyad Mahrez - how long can you keep on letting players like that go and stay at the level they are?

Brendan Rodgers has a right to stand there and say "come on, you need to help us now, we've lost a lot of quality over the year and we can't keep doing that."

  19. 'Castagne can get goals'published at 13:18 British Summer Time 13 September 2020

Brendan Rodgers on Timothy Castagne making his debut: "He's an experienced player and a full international with Belgium.

"I've followed him closely for a number of years, he's very dynamic as a full-back or wing-back. He's a guy who can get goals as well."

And on James Maddison being fit enough for the bench: "He's not quite up to speed yet but it's been great to have his quality on the training pitch."
