Leicester also make two changes, one of which is enforced. Wilfred Ndidi, who had been operating as a makeshift centre-back, is injured, but City are able to welcome back Jonny Evans.

Ayoze Perez drops to the bench, with Daniel Amartey replacing him in midfield. James Maddison remains amongst the substitutes.

Newcastle have changed their shape. They have gone to a four in midfield. Isaac Hayden has gone back into midfield and Jamal Lewis is at left-back. That is a sign that Newcastle are going to be a bit more positive now.

Newcastle have looked good in the last five minutes. They are growing in confidence.

Spurs remain with just a goal lead and that gives Newcastle hope.

The £40m man Joelinton does well to chase down a loose ball then evade the attention of two defenders, before putting a cross straight out of play.

That was a clever foul from Joelinton, even if he did pick up the booking. His team was in trouble there because Spurs were breaking.

But do you see why people talk about inconsistency in refereeing decisions.

If he books Joelinton then he has to do the same for Giovani Lo Celso moments later for the foul on Federico Fernández.
