Still to come
Have you ever known a football schedule like this?
We start early tomorrow.
Off the mark
Tottenham 1-1 Chelsea (5-4 on pens)
Chelsea
Only Robert Lewandowski (56), Ciro Immobile and Cristiano Ronaldo (40 each) have score more goals among players in Europe’s top five leagues in all competitions since August 2019 than Timo Werner (35).

Rudiger and Alli, both toast at their respective clubs do we think?
'We need to be more positive'
Tottenham 1-1 Chelsea (5-4 on pens)
Chelsea
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard: "Anything can happen on penalties, you want to stay in these competitions of course but there's lots to like. We dominated the first half but the game changed, I'm happy with bits.
"They went long in the second half, missed our press out, a clear change in tactics from them and we need to improve on that. We can react better. If we get the second goal when on top and be more positive - that will come.
"We looked tired at the end which was understandable given where we are at. Timo Werner had some cramping at the end so he didn't take a penalty."
Is Antonio Rudiger on his way out? "No. It's not at that point."

Thanks.

Jamie Jennrich: Lampard is still finding our best 11 don’t forget we still have Pulisic and Zyiech to come back, give him time to play them, once they are back we will be a completely different proposition with more intensity going forward
Steven Blake: Absolutely ridiculous people saying Lampard is out of his depth. I have complete trust in him and any other Chelsea fans thinking otherwise can jog on

'Nature calls!'
Tottenham 1-1 Chelsea (5-4 on pens)
Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham defender Eric Dier: "I'm so happy, I'm proud of how we played apart from the first 15 minutes. We showed them too much respect but then we were fantastic.
"After playing on Sunday it wasn't easy, maybe that's the reason I had to run off but we got through it! All of the staff and the players put the effort in.
"Jose wasn't happy but there was nothing I could do about it, nature was calling. I heard there was a chance while I was off the pitch but thankfully they didn't score."

I think he meant that as a compliment...
'Eric Dier is not normal'
Tottenham 1-1 Chelsea (5-4 on pens)
Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho on Sky Sports: "We were ready to fight, I told you. I told the players before the penalties that they were magnificent in the second half, we made Chelsea look ordinary. The team waited for the right moment.
"I have to think about three games at the same time but the players only thought about this game, they were phenomenal. Phenomenal.
"We tried to organise a team with the playes we had available, What happened to Eric Dier is not normal, I have to praise him in a special way. It should be forbidden for a player to play two games in 48 hours at this level [after he played against Newcastle]. What he did is not human to do.
"He had to go [when he ran off] - he had no chance. Maybe it is a normal thing when you are completely dehydrated which is the case, I had to put pressure on him to get back but he is a great example for everybody. If the authoroties don't care about players, I care.
"On the penalties I have a negative record but I had the feeling that everything was going well."

The defending from Emerson for the equaliser is really, really poor...
'It means a lot to us'
Tottenham 1-1 Chelsea (5-4 on pens)
Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham forward Erik Lamela on Sky Sports: "We are very happy to win, it means a lot for us.
"The first half was difficult, they managed the ball and we tried to press but in the second half we played like we wanted to. With penalties sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.
"Everyone shot very well, this team really wanted to win."

Lee: I love Frank, but he is tactically clueless. Just what does he do on the training pitch each day?
Chris Lord: 2 defenders out of 5 to be spot kick takers, fairplay they scored, but Werner! You pay how much doesn’t put himself up for a penalty after putting it in the net?
James G: Chelsea’s patience with Lampard will be getting shorter! Every game I watch we are so laboured in possession, so lacking in urgency. Then he doesn’t have Werner take a penalty? Just bizarre. It’s like he doesn’t want us to win. No ruthlessness

Post update
Tottenham 1-1 Chelsea (5-4 on pens)
Chelsea end the game on 63% of possession but Tottenham actually ended up having more shots on goal. Chelsea were very flat in the second half.
