    Tottenham 0-1 Chelsea

Odd game. Chelsea lead, a cracking goal from Timo Werner but Tottenham have been so lame.

  2. YELLOW CARDpublished at 45+2 mins

    Tottenham 0-1 Chelsea

A classic 'taking one for the team' as Spurs break away and Mateo Kovacic just trips Erik Lamela as he threatened to run on goal. Booked.

    Tottenham 0-1 Chelsea

Jorginho is playing like the old guy in your powerleague who can't run but you still can't get the ball off him. Dominant.

Eric Dier is going to end up with an unbelievable number of games at the highest level, like the English John O'Shea. Versatility is his friend.

Chelsea turn the ball over and Callum Hudson-Odoi is on his bike but wow, Sergio Reguilon with superb pace to motor back and make the tackle. Lightning!

Can't believe Dier is being played at centre back every game. He's much better as a defensive midfielder. Alderweireld and Sanchez are a decent duo at the back!

Why do Spurs persist in trying to play possession football? They are totally incapable of playing through sides when under pressure and the ball always goes backwards. They get caught in possession and it has cost them yet again. As a Spurs fan it drives me crazy.

    Tottenham 0-1 Chelsea

Chelsea are so on top but Frank Lampard won't be happy if it's only 1-0 at half-time - and they haven't actually fashioned too many clear-cut chances. Got to put these games away.

  8. Postpublished at 37 mins

    Tottenham 0-1 Chelsea

Spurs having their best spell now, Kurt Zouma makes a wild clearance into orbit but there's no real presence up front for Spurs and Chelsea are able to setle it down.

Should have been 1-1 but Edouard Mendy makes a good save off Erik Lamela's weaker right foot.

A bit of Spurs possession for once, can they fashion anything? Yes! Serge Aurier finds Erik Lamela, who spins inside the area superbly but his low shot is tame. Edouard Mendy makes his first save in England with his feet.

What a ball from Callum Hudson-Odoi.

He lost his footing a little but had great vision to pick out Timo Werner with a chipped ball.

Twice in a minute Callum Hudson-Odoi skips away down the Chelsea right and puts over testing crosses. It's a stern exam on his debut for new Spurs left-back Sergio Reguilon.

Stuart: The new keeper for Chelsea, Mendy. He looks very uncertain with set pieces into his box, flapping at corners. Reminds me of De Gea when he first joined United

Chris Baldwin: a midfield 3 of Gedson, Sissoko and Ndombele. Not one ball winner between them against Kovacic and Jorginho. It makes no sense. If Mourinho wanted to throw the game why not just play the kids and rest the others. This could be messy

And now Olivier Giroud catches Tanguy Ndombele. All a bit niggly out there. Eric Dier seems to be carrying on now.

Frank Lampard and Jose Mourinho are exchanging views on the touchline after a Chelsea player goes down holding his face. No stranger to a touchline spat is he, Frank?

Looks like Eric Dier is going to have to come off. There's an England squad named on Thursday by all accounts because we need more football.

One of the two Spurs players who played at the weekend and who is playing again tonight - Eric Dier - is down holding the back of his knee. Issues?

  18. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 23 mins

    Tottenham 0-1 Chelsea

A chance for Spurs out of nothing! Gedson Fernandes presses and wins the ball back and he's in on goal, out comes Edouard Mendy and Kurt Zouma makes a bit of a desperate lunge, but wins it well.

Fernandes wants a penalty but that was spot on.

Brilliant goal, great finish from Timo Werner. It was a bad mistake from Sergio Reguilon giving away the ball.

It was drilled hard and low, Chelsea have deserved this.

They have been sensational with the ball but Spurs are offering them so much room.

Not the best start for Sergio Reguilon then, who is now hurt after making a tackle on Fikayo Tomori. He's going to be OK.
