Tobias: That old chestnut that fans just want to see their team win a trophy..any trophy..Arteta delivered one a few months ago and the fans are still losing their minds.

Steve Smith: Arsenal need a leader on the pitch and in the dressing room. Without that, it doesn't matter who the manager is.

Stuart Eccles: Anyone thinking this game ever had any meaning for Arsenal needs a re-think. To call for a manager to go off the back of this is lunacy.

It's getting a little bit sloppy and a little slow in the Arsenal play now. A few tired bodies out there. You hope that the youngsters who have played tonight will learn a few lessons from this. You hope that Mikel Arteta has learned something about his players tonight because at times, they have done OK but it's been a tough experience at times.

Phil Foden has been very good. He pops it wide to Riyad Mahrez, who gets into the box and on to his left foot before striking a low effort on target, but Alex Runarsson does well to get down and keep it out.

Emile Smith Rowe has looked lively since he has come on and does well to get down the left and fire a ball across the top of the six-yard box, but there's not enough red and white shirts in the box to get on the end of it.

That FA Cup win was less than five months ago, Jonathan. Not fancy Arteta to turn this start to the season around? City have been clinical tonight.

James: Mustafi. Kolasinac. Luiz. Willian. Sokratis. Elneny. Xhaka. Bellerin. Auba. Runarsson. Pepe. Ceballos. Holding. Cedric. Just some of the players that haven't been fit to wear the Arsenal Badge this season.

Goodbye Mikel. Thanks for the FA Cup, but this is now simply unsustainable.

It's been precious little of Arsenal attacking, they have just ran out of steam in the second half. When they have got into the final third, that quality just hasn't been there.

Arsenal did have that little spell when they scored and got back into the game but now it's just been wrestled away from them.

Arteta keeps preaching that it's only a few errors that cost us goals, that we dominate the match. But we consistently have these 'few' errors every game, and for me that screams that the tactics and set up are wrong. It happens every game.

    Nathan, Southampton

I agree with Peter from Oxford. This is the worse Arsenal team I have seen in 50 years supporting the Gunners.

City are pressing for a fifth, but Ferran Torres pulls away from his marker and Kyle Walker's pass goes the other way - bit of miscommunication.

Manchester City have been clinical tonight. They have had six shots on target in the game and they have scored four goals. That is something that hasn't happened very often this season for City.

It's just quality from Manchester City. Short corner, Arsenal give Phil Foden a yard of space and he just works the ball back onto his left foot. Two players at the far post and a free header for Aymeric Laporte.

It's so static for Arsenal inside the penalty area and it was simple as you like for Laporte.

    Aymeric Laporte (72 mins)

Manchester City wrap up their spot in the Carabao Cup semi-finals.

Riyad Mahrez wins a corner, the visitors take it short and Phil Foden has all the time in the world to pick out Aymeric Laporte with a well-weighted left-footed cross to the back post.

The defender nods beyond Alex Runarsson to make it four. Lovely goal.

Emile Smith Rowe gets his first touch as Arsenal work it in front of the City defence and the young playmaker then turns smartly to feed a pass into Alexandre Lacazette's path, but the forward hits the side netting from a tight angle. Nice move that from the hosts.
