Tottenham will be playing in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley on 25 April.

Goals from Moussa Sissoko and Son Heung-min give Spurs the win over a Brentford side that can be very proud of their performance tonight and a run that has seen them knockout four Premier League teams.

For the Bees, they will now be hoping to play Tottenham in a league match next season, while Spurs can put this competition to the back of their minds now for three months before a final showdown against either Manchester United or Manchester City.

It hasn't been that comfortable for Tottenham but you feel like they could go to another gear if they needed to. If Brentford would've scored, you just feel like Tottenham could move up a gear.

Ben Hesford: I think Da Silva is unlucky there. Just doing a chop whilst on the ball, and his foot just catches Hojbjerg.

Kelly Lewis: Da Silva had already killed Brentford's hopes anyway. Gave the ball away in the lead up to the second goal trying to be fancy.

Son has his goal and can now be saved for the last few minutes as Carlos Vinicius comes on to partner Harry Kane up top.

  8. 'Not deliberate by Da Silva'published at 88 mins

It's definitely not deliberate by Josh Da Silva but because he catches Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg ankle - and you know in the Premier League that is a red card - that's why he sends him off.

When you see it in real time, I don't think there is much in it but when you slow it down, you can see Da Silva's right foot that catches Hojbjerg.

  9. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 87 mins

Pierre Hojberg goes off and is able to walk down the tunnel to get that wound on his shin looked at. On comes defender Japhet Tanganga.

  10. RED CARD - Josh Da Silva (Brentford)published at 21:29 Greenwich Mean Time 5 January 2021

    Tottenham 2-0 Brentford

It's an lunge from Josh Da Silva and he catches the shin of Pierre Hojberg.

Da Silva, who began his career at Arsenal, was the hero of the win against Newcastle, but he is sent off and Brentford are down to 10.

Hojberg has a lot of blood on his shin and a nasty-looking wound.

Ed Franklin: Spurs were so fortunate on that offside, but that's a fantastic counter-attacking goal with a perfectly weighted ball by Ndombele and no doubt once Son is in on goal.

Sulaimon: Its game over and Spurs are heading to Wembley with Jose Mourinho.

Jose Mourinho wins trophies. Once he gets into this position, nine times out of 10 his football team wins trophies.

Tottenham are really getting to see the best of Tanguy Ndombele now. He has just produced an excellent assist and he nearly makes it three, but his shot hits the outside of the post after being played in by Son Heung-min.

I said he had been quiet but that was brilliant! It was a great ball in from Tanguy Ndombele, he does ever so well to pick out Son Heung-min.

Once Son gets in a one-on-one position, you just know he is going to finish. That's a great goal and I think it is tie over now.

  19. goal

GOAL - Tottenham 2-0 Brentfordpublished at 69 mins

    Son Heung-min

This is a lovely breakaway goal. Harry Kane comes deep after Spurs originally won the ball inside their own half, he gives it to Tanguy Ndombele and it's a beautifully-weighted pass which Son Heung-min can take in his stride.

Son runs into the area and calmly shoots high into the net past David Raya.

A few minutes ago Brentford thought they had equalised before VAR said 'no', now they're 2-0 down and facing a mountain to climb.

Look at Ivan Toney's right knee and where Moussa Sissoko's foot is - Toney's right knee is ahead of Sissoko's foot. It would be very harsh but his knee is ahead of his foot.
