Manchester City

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola on BT Sport: "Congratulations to my team for this game and finishing first. We played to win, we didn't concede a shot on target or a corner all game. Alongside Benfica, Porto are one of the best teams in Portugal, very physical. We did really well but unfortunately couldn't score, all the players were fantastic.

"We struggled to score today but we played really well with incredible personality and many things about the game were brilliant."

On Phil Foden: "What a player. His intensity, he always creates things and yes, he was so good he played really well.

"We came here to finish first, we played for the win and we deserved it but deserve in football is a fake word because the result dictates everything. We play to win the game but it's difficult with eight or nine of their players defending in the box. We played really well, we came to finish first but now we focus on Marseille and before that 100% on the Premier League."

On overall group stage performance: "Absolutely very happy - it's more than the results, we played really well in all the games. 11 shots on target against Olympiakos and against Marseille as well and today we had lots of chances. Maybe not as much today but enough to win clearly but the way we played, the courage and defensively we were so good."

Liverpool

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp on BT Sport: "Honestly since I was at Liverpool that feels like one of the biggest Champions League nights. Without supporters in, it was the most important, most difficult, most exceptional.

"With the circumstances, there hasn't been much to smile about, it's been tricky, and the boys throw themselves into the game. Robbo has a proper knock on the ankle and pushes himself through, Hendo with a sore back, Gini - I have no words for him. Curtis Jones, what a game, It's amazing, I'm really proud.

"Curtis is a really good kid, a good player and I am happy to have him around. Sometimes with injuries there is always an opportunity and he has taken it.

"I really think Adrian has done a fantastic job for us, he kept a lot of clean sheets, played everywhere. But now we needed the natural football playing ability of Caoimhin Kelleher. He is a good shot stopper as well. We made that decision but you never know how they are going to cope. I am really happy with how calm he was and how good he was.

"We had a long talk with Neco Williams this week, we think he has more in the locker than he has shown so far. The season started ater a difficult summer with lockdown, a short pre-seaosn and then Trent Alexander-Arnold is out.

"Neco was not in the best shape but he's on the big stage - tonight he showed glimpses. He can be so much better still."

Liverpool

Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher on BT Sport: "It was an amazing one for me, to make my debut in a Champions League game was massive and we got the win and qualifed. A great night.

"That's what I'm there for, I work every day in training to make sure I am ready and I was able to make a good few saves.

"It's quite easy for me with the players in front of me, they give me good options. We are not here to take part, the young players want to push and play as many games as we can.

"My phone has been hot since I got in tonight, thanks for all the support."

Manchester City

Manchester City midfielder Fernandinho speaking to BT Sport: "Important to get one point away from home especially against a tough team which Porto are - they fought the whole game to get the point and to go through but it's important for us even though unfortunately we didn't score. I think it's a good result for us to secure first position in the group."

On Jesus' disallowed goal: "Gabriel Jesus is always alert, a striker's job is always to be alert in the box, and he showed his quality. Unfortunately it was offside but I'm glad for him because he changed the game with his pace and his desire. It was a good point for us and we are glad to finish top of the group.

"I think we tried to win the game from the start, we tried to play our game from the first minute and for them it was an important point but what's important for us is where we are now, ready for the next game."

Manchester City had 18 shots today, their most attempts at goal without scoring in a Champions League match.

Liverpool

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson on BT Sport: "A very tough game. The boys were outstanding and gave it everything. We should have scored a few more on the counter, but overall we are delighted with the three points and a clean sheet.

"It's a great finish from Curtis Jones. He gambled that the keeper was going to miss it and a great finish.

"We managed the game better second half, it was end to end in the first half and we could have scored a few more. We'll take the points and the qualification.

"We know the injury problems we have got but I feel that the togetherness is big in this dressing room. We dug out a win."

Inter have held on to win 3-2 at Borussia Monchengladbach, meaning every team in Group B could still go through.

However, a late Thomas Muller penalty has earned Bayern Munich a draw at Atletico Madrid, meaning the Spanish side must avoid defeat at Red Bull Salzburg in their final group game to go through.

Still, Ajax have have a chance of reaching the Champions League knockout phase in matchround six (at home against Atalanta).

They now need a win to progress, as Atalanta (1-1 against Midtjylland) are one point ahead in Group D (8 versus 7 points).

Just shows you how much of a good performance from Caoimhin Kelleher that was. Jurgen Klopp appreciating exactly what he's done for his team tonight. Second half was extremely good from Liverpool, so much more organised, pressing was better. Ajax were definitiely fatigued towards the end of the game but they had chances to win the game themselves.

City haven't won on the night, somehow, but they have won the group.

Liverpool are through and they've won the group as well!

What a dream debut this is for Caoimhin Kelleher. It's a brilliant save - it's everything he would've dreamt of last night. Big saves on the night, it's Klaas-Jan Huntelaar with a powerful header and he's saved it top corner, magnificent from Kelleher.

Save young man! Ajax send on veteran Klaas Jan Huntelaar and he has a free header from about six yards out. His connection is a good one but it's dead straight, right at Caoimhin Kelleher. He should be saving those but it's a very sharp stop, pushing it over the bar.

Chance for Liverpool to wrap up the win but Mo Salah gets his angles wrong and slashes a shot wide away from goal. Bent it the wrong way.
