Tom Finn: well the star of the match was VAR, the referees enjoying the limelight - absolutely comical UCL - good thing the match didn’t mean anything cuz that was just annoying - VAR RUINING the beautiful game
Mart Frankland: The whole point of VAR was to deal with what we might call dodgy refereeing decisions. We've ended up with even more dodgy VAR decisions.
More reaction from that Liverpool game
Man City v Marseille (20:00 GMT)
It's a dry but nippy night in Manchester as the players line-up for the Champions League anthem.
If they had a choice, they'd keep those tracksuit tops on.

Mark Willis: What's the record for having your comments appear on the BBC website during one game? I've sent in two and they've both appeared. Fancy getting my hat-trick!
Congratulations Mark, get yourself a match ball.
Man City v Marseille (20:00 GMT)
Pep Guardiola, as you can see, has only decided to retain midfielders Ilkay Gundogan and Riyad Mahrez from the side that beat Fulham 2-0.
You can't blame him for the changes with City already through as Group C winners - however, if they win here then the 16 points they accrue will be the joint-most of any English side in a single group stage along with Arsenal in 2005-06 (finalists), Manchester United in 2007-08 (winners), and Tottenham Hotspur in 2017-18 (last 16).
So, there is something to play for - and pride and all that.
Man City v Marseille (20:00 GMT)
Cheers Rose-a.
Here's a reminder of the XI v XI for the contest at the Etihad.
Man City XI: Steffen; Walker, Garcia, Laporte, Ake; Foden, Fernandinho, Gundogan; Mahrez, Torres, Silva
Marseille XI: Mandanda; Sakai, Alvaro, Balerdi, Nagatomo; Sanson, Kamara, Gueye; Thauvin, Germain, Payet
Right, stick around for reaction to the game but with the late kick offs fast approaching, I'm handing over to Saj Chowdhury to see things through to the end.
FC Midtjylland 1-1 Liverpool
All over - unless VAR decides to have a check of that too.
A poor second half from Liverpool, but a fair result in the end.
Man City v Marseille (20:00GMT)

BBC Sport at the Etihad Stadium
Manchester City could create a little bit of club history in the Champions League tonight.
Victory would take their overall tally in Group C to 16 points, which would be the most they have ever achieved.
They have got to 15 points twice and 14 once. They are currently on 13.

Nick Milne: Liverpool's biggest challengers this season? FA and UEFA. Shocking!
Sorendanbusiness: wouldn’t it be great if we could go back to allowing refereed to make mistakes again?
If VAR can't decide what is what after several minutes & multiple replays, what's the point in having it?
Guy
FC Midtjylland 1-1 Liverpool
FC Midtjylland have attempted 17 shots against Liverpool; the most they’ve had in a single Champions League match, and the most faced by Liverpool in a game in the competition since May 2018 v Roma (24).

It's tough to comment on the veracity of the VAR calls in this game because, as the viewer, we haven't been given enough evidence. The one thing that's for sure is that the confusion has made the game less enjoyable.
Miles, Watford
I'm not convinced by these offside lines. Not just tonight but since VAR came in in general. If you want to measure it in millimetres the cameras need to be perpendicular to the pitch. We're looking at all these decisions from odd angles, how can you make such a tight call. Look at the incident from the side and you wouldn't need dodgy lines and clueless officials.

FC Midtjylland 1-1 Liverpool
Oh there's eight minutes of time added on, by the way. Most of that for some long and frankly confusing VAR decisions.
FC Midtjylland 1-1 Liverpool
It's not going to count with the referee indicating handball. The only thing I can think is that Sadio Mane headed down onto his hand before Takumi Minamino scored.
We really need to see the angles VAR sees.
FC Midtjylland 1-1 Liverpool
Takumi Minamino is not offside in my book looking at a replay, surely this has to count?
FC Midtjylland 1-1 Liverpool
Sadio Mane heads down inside the box and Takumi Minamino fires home. The flag is up for offside and VAR will have a check...
FC Midtjylland 1-1 Liverpool
Oooh, FC Midtjylland are suddenly six against two and it is surely a late winner for the hosts but Jordan Henderson gets back superbly to deny Evander's shot with a last-ditch challenge.
FC Midtjylland 1-1 Liverpool
Superb save by Caoimhin Kelleher to deny Erik Sviatchenko, who had a free header.
Sadio Mane is on now for Diogo Jota in a last-ditch attempt to try and pinch the win.

On some Europa League or European league nights there's a good chance you'd have enough in to warrant a joint byline.
PSG 5-1 Istanbul Basaksehir
That's it.
Neymar's hat-trick seals an impressive win for PSG, who finish top of Group H.
It was a match that began in the 14th minute following the dramatic events of Tuesday. Play had been suspended following a players' walk-off in protest to accusations that Romanian fourth official Sebastian Coltescu made a racist comment towards Basaksehir assistant coach Pierre Webo.
