Jordan Henderson plays the ball back to Alisson, not sure he wanted that so early and he lashes it downfield.

And you can hear it now if you put the radio on or press play at the top.

Really intriguing game this. Liverpool were much more like their old selves against Leicester but one mistake saw them capitulate. That period between 70-90 minutes could be crucial once again.

    Here come the sides...

Interesting analogy (I had to google Sir Simon Rattle)...

For the life of me I cannot comprehend why Klopp thought he could integrate Thiago Alcantara into this Liverpool side. It's like asking Sir Simon Rattle to conduct music for Metallica. Strictly speaking they're all musicians but they're completely different.

It is a year of course since Liverpool went out at this stage, shocked at home by an outstanding away performance from Atletico Madrid. And we were shocked by a full house...

Kaushik Gorai: People talking so much about Liverpool's blip in form just proves how far we have come since the 8th-9th finishing team, when Klopp took over.

Roger: I do think putting Henderson in defence has hurt the Reds. They're missing his all around game in the middle of the pitch. I know Klopp thinks he's the safest bet, but in the long run he should have put one of the kids back there.

RB Leipzig v Liverpool (20:00 GMT)

    Liverpool

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, speaking to BT Sport: "It is the Champions League. Let's give it a proper try. We are here and ready and have a good team together."

On RB Leipzig: "Good, flexible. They have made changes and it is not entirely clear what system they play. Klostermann can play right-back or centre-back. We can identify offensive or defensive players so we will see during the game. This is what Nagelsmann is doing. If you see the games against Tottenham and Manchester United they really go for it. We have to play ourselves and get the ball. You have to trust to break the press by playing football."

You can not underestimate Julian Nagelsmann - he has shown how he has grown as a manager into the game. The model is a bit different at Leipzig in the way they recruit because it's done by the sporting director so the manager just works with the players that you're given.

In some ways I think that is a bigger skill, to just work with the players that are thrown at you.

The only thing Messi has decided up to now is that he has no intention of deciding anything until the season is ending.

The talk is of a project that would probably be based on selling the French contingent (Antoine Griezmann, Ousmane Dembele, Clement Lenglet and Samuel Umtiti) with a view to bringing in about 200m euros and then strengthening the Barca side with the addition of a centre-back - David Alaba from Bayern Munich perhaps, and almost certainly Eric Garcia from Manchester City - a left-back and then maybe a top player up front, probably someone like Erling Braut Haaland.

Messi does dream one day of going to the United States.

Until Henderson starts in midfield, Liverpool are going to struggle getting forward quickly. Thiago is too slow on the ball, Jones only passes backwards and Gini isn't creative. Midfield needs an overhaul in the Summer.

    Will

Ok, so Liverpool are having a rough time at the moment, but that doesn't mean that we can't beat Leipzig over a 2 legged tie! I definitely think that mo salah will score twice tonight, with an assist, with the score line ending 3-1 to liverpool. Come on you reds!!!
