  1. Postpublished at 40 mins

    RB Leipzig 0-0 Liverpool

The forty minutes have flown by. Leipzig hit the post very early on but since then it's Liverpool who have looked the more dangerous. That Leipzig high line looks like an accident waiting to happen.

Roberto Firmino set off on a press there but he wasn't the only one - Curtis Jones is there with him and in on the next ball. He forces an error and Thiago pounces on it and plays a quick ball to Sadio Mane. Good play from Liverpool.

  3. CLOSE!published at 20:38 Greenwich Mean Time 16 February 2021

    Barcelona 1-1 Paris St-Germain

Goodness me, hard to catch your breath here.

Now Moise Kean comes close, swivelling and cracking a low drive which Marc-Andre Ter Stegen has to deal with.

  4. CLOSE!published at 20:38 Greenwich Mean Time 16 February 2021

    Barcelona 1-1 Paris St-Germain

A brilliant game at the Nou Camp.

Antoine Griezmann makes a break for it from the halfway line, reaching the edge of the box unchallenged before drilling a shot across the face of goal and narrowly wide.

  5. Postpublished at 38 mins

    RB Leipzig 0-0 Liverpool

We didn't get a full VAR replay as Sadio Mane cut that ball back for Roberto Firmino to head in - it was very, very close.

Here we go. I think that was the right call but there's centimetres in that.

I can foresee PSG never winning the Champions League. They saunter to the league title every year against small fry then can't hack it against the big fish.

  7. GREAT SAVE!published at 20:36 Greenwich Mean Time 16 February 2021

    Barcelona 1-1 Paris St-Germain

Barcelona are all over the place at the back and PSG should have another but for Marc-Andre ter Stegen's superb save, diving full stretch to his left to tip away Layvin Kurzawa's carefully-placed effort.

  8. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 36 mins

    RB Leipzig 0-0 Liverpool

Almost a goal for Richard to get excited about as Roberto Firmino puts it in but the ball was out of play.

    That is close!

Richard: Liverpool's play is good but if you don't score it means nothing. Story of their season looks good but no end product.

  10. CLOSE!published at 32 mins

    RB Leipzig 0-0 Liverpool

Oh it's almost sensational! Again that high line from Leipzig is exposed, Peter Gulacsi does really well to come out and sweep it up but Andrew Robertson tries to lob him, Chris Waddles style from about 50 yards out.

It's a great effort too, almost perfect but it lands on the roof of the net with Gulacsi scrambling back. He wouldn't have got there!

  11. goal

GOAL - Barcelona 1-1 PSGpublished at 32 mins

    Kylian Mbappe

    Away goal!

Lionel Messi opened the scoring, now it's heir to the throne Kylian Mbappe showing what he is capable of.

It is an absolutely glorious goal from PSG, the returning Marco Verratti flicking the ball into the France star.

Mbappe has plenty to do but in one swift motion finds a way past compatriot Clement Lenglet before ruthlessly smashing an unstoppable finish into the top corner.

  12. Messi doing a madnesspublished at 20:31 Greenwich Mean Time 16 February 2021

    Barcelona 1-0 Paris St-Germain

Messi has now scored in the round of last 16 in 13 of the last 14 Champions League seasons.

In that run (since 2007/08), he only failed to find the net at this stage in 14/15 (versus Manchester City).

The penalty was his 20th goal of the season for Barcelona in all competitions; it's the 13th consecutive campaign he's scored 20+ for the club.

  13. CLOSE!published at 20:30 Greenwich Mean Time 16 February 2021

    Barcelona 1-0 Paris St-Germain

Barca almost have a quick-fire second, Lionel Messi laying the ball off for Ousmane Dembele bang in centre of goal, but it is a tame finish from the Frenchman, barely making Keylor Navas work.

    What a chance!

  14. Postpublished at 30 mins

    RB Leipzig 0-0 Liverpool

Agreed, playing really well. It may be how they react to any error/going behind that defines the game, if the last few are anything to go by.

  15. 'Liverpool on their game'published at 20:29 Greenwich Mean Time 16 February 2021

    RB Leipzig 0-0 Liverpool

    Stephen Warnock
Ex-Aston Villa and Liverpool defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

The one touch play from Liverpool - this doesn't look like a team that are struggling for confidence. They look like they are full of energy - for a team that have looked low on energy for the last four or five games they look like they're at the races. They're on their game tonight.

  16. Postpublished at 28 mins

    RB Leipzig 0-0 Liverpool

Glorious, one-touch stuff again. Trent Alexander-Arnold flips a beauty of a pass with the outside of his boot to Roberto Firmino but he scuffs it wide.

  17. goal

GOAL - Barcelona 1-0 PSGpublished at 28 mins

    Lionel Messi (penalty)

The penalty was checked by VAR and the decision stands.

Lionel Messi steps up and smashes the penalty into the top corner.

No goalkeeper would have stopped that and Keylor Navas concedes against Barca again.

  18. PENALTY TO BARCELONApublished at 20:26 Greenwich Mean Time 16 February 2021

    Barcelona 0-0 Paris St-Germain

Frenkie de Jong clipped in the box by Layvin Kurzawa and the referee Bjorn Kuipers points to the spot.

  19. CLOSE!published at 24 mins

    RB Leipzig 0-0 Liverpool

Great chance! Mo Salah wins it on halfway, Roberto Firmino then loops in a cross to the back post and Sadio Mane rises high to head on to the roof of the net.

Jurgen Klopp enjoyed that. Liverpool playing well.

  20. Postpublished at 22 mins

    RB Leipzig 0-0 Liverpool

Really good last-man defending from Jordan Henderson. They would have been bang in trouble had he been rolled on the halfway line but he shrugged off Tyler Adams with ease.
