England 2-0 Republic of Ireland
Tyrone Mings, moments after turning into Messi on the edge of the Republic of Ireland box, is back doing his bread and butter to stick a foot in and block a cross from a rare attack by the visitors.
England 2-0 Republic of Ireland
Oh, what a goal this would have been!
Jack Grealish (I've got his name on copy and paste given how much I'm mentioning him) cuts in from the left and then feeds the ball to Tyrone Mings, who backheels the ball into Bukayo Saka's path but the Arsenal man fires into the sidenetting.
Lovely move.

It's always a special moment when a player makes their debut. Dean Henderson will have sat waiting, knowing that he is coming on at half-time and the longer that half goes on, the more nervous you get.
You just want to get out on the pitch, you want to get a feel of the ball, you want to get into the game. It's helpful he's got Harry Maguire in front of him, Manchester United team-mate - even more helpful England are 2-0 up.
Who is impressing? And who isn't? Rate the players here.
England 2-0 Republic of Ireland
Jack Grealish tries to get himself on the scoresheet with an effort early in the second half but he clips his shot just wide of the far post.
England 2-0 Republic of Ireland
It amazes me, given his form last season, that Dean Henderson hasn't got an England cap before but finally he has one now as the Manchester United goalkeeper replaces Nick Pope in goal.
We're back under way.

BBC Sport chief football writer at Wembley
After the early skirmishes, this has been like a training session for England as their attack has probed against the Irish defence.
England are in complete control, with Jack Grealish having the run of Wembley, popping up all over the Wembley pitch.
HT: England 2-0 Republic of Ireland
Happy with his performance so far? He's been everywhere!

Serbia 0-1 Scotland
BIG goal for Scotland as they take the lead in their crucial Euro 2020 play off final.
Could they be on their way to a first major men's tournament in 23 years?

cufcfan616: Grealish has been full of energy and looking for options all over the pitch. I assume this means Southgate is going to overlook him for a defensive midfielder in competitive matches?
Thom Flint: In my opinion as a former below-average Sunday league right-back, the only way to defend against Grealish is to convince the ref he's forgotten his shin pads.

Conor Hourihane is playing safe options at the moment and he's the one in the midfield with the quality that may pick that pass. He's leaving that long, raking pass to the centre-halves and you just want him to take more responsibility.
But I think Republic of Ireland are under instruction to play the way Stephen Kenny made his name. At the moment though, England are comfortable with it because there isn't that threat in behind.
Maguire and Sancho on target for England in the first half.
So far so good for the hosts. A dominant first-half display.
Half-time score at Wembley
England 2-0 Republic of Ireland
Jack Grealish drives into the area and cuts the ball back into the middle. You feel someone is surely going to stab in but Republic of Ireland clear before Tyrone Mings drives an effort just wide.
Strong finish to the half.

The confidence has oozed from England since Harry Maguire's first goal went in.
I think Republic of Ireland are playing into England's hands a bit. There are spaces in behind England, they just need to turn them.
England 2-0 Republic of Ireland
Dara O'Shea slides in late on Dominic Calvert-Lewin and England have a free kick just inside the Republic of Ireland's half.
With half time approaching England are in no rush to take risks and the free kick is played backwards as Gareth Southgate's side decide to build from the defence.
England 2-0 Republic of Ireland
Jack Grealish and Mason Mount link up on the left with the latter's low cross knocked behind by Jeff Hendrick for another England corner.
This one is played short, Mount and Grealish again combining but this time the visiting defence holds firm.

Mark: Calvert-Lewin is a great prospect but needs to start trying to use his left foot.
Andy Szpuk: Maguire after a hat-trick tonight. When was the last time a defender did that? If ever.
