John Egan is down. It looks like he is struggling after clashing with team-mate Conor Hourihane for one of England's corner earlier. He can't continue so on comes Dara O'Shea.
England 0-0 Republic of Ireland
Republic of Ireland keep up their good spell as they win a free kick just outside the box. Conor Hourihane curls the ball into the box but Nick Pope is quick off his line to punch away.
Think there was an offside in there somewhere but Pope wasn't to know and that was a good, confident clearance.

Ash Williams: Maguire starting AND captain? Sign of a lack of quality centre-backs. Maguire is in poor form.
Bresla Stephenson: Controversial opinion but I think Southgate has got this selection spot on.
Luke: Other than Kane and possibly a fit Henderson, that's a cracking starting XI for Southgate for competitive matches. Form players playing in their club position! Its what we have wanted for years!
England 0-0 Republic of Ireland
A couple of good moments for the visitors as first Daryl Horgan almost finds Callum O'Dowda with a cross but the Bristol City man can't get a shot off with a defender in close attention.
Then, a ball over the top finds Horgan but his first-time cross to the far post goes out of play with no-one making the run.
England 0-0 Republic of Ireland
England, at home, are playing in blue tonight. Not entirely sure why.
Plenty of possession from the hosts in these early stages and they are giving the Republic of Ireland little time on the ball when they do get it.

I was surprised Republic of Ireland have never won at Wembley. It's a great opportunity for them tonight. We've talked about the inexperience of the England team and Adam Idah up front is something a little bit different. They may look to go forward a little bit earlier.
But you look at England and they have started off on a positive foot. You are looking to them to really be proactive in this game.
England 0-0 Republic of Ireland
England win an early corner as Bukayo Saka's cross is knocked behind. Mason Mount's delivery is a good one, forcing the visitors to concede another corner which this time is flicked on by Jadon Sancho to the far post but Tyrone Mings heads over.
Northern Ireland 0-1 Slovakia
An early blow for Northern Ireland as they have conceded against Slovakia.
The visitors lead 1-0 in that one and you can follow it here.
England 0-0 Republic
Jack Grealish is looking busy straight from the off and he nudges Cyrus Christie off the ball wide left before making his way to the edge of the box. He looks for Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who lets the ball run through his legs but there's no England player waiting behind him.

Everyone talking about not being bothered about friendlies - for any Irish team, playing England is never a friendly. Come on England!

Why does Southgate have to shoe horn Mount into the team? CM? How is Foden not starting.

Republic of Ireland manager Stephen Kenny on ITV Sport: "We've never won at Wembley in our history.
"We are delighted to be here, we are missing a lot of players but a lot of players are looking to make their mark.
"It's a great game for us. We want to perform well tonight - that's the ambition."
Wales are also in action, they are playing USA in a friendly.
The BIG games involving Scotland and Northern Ireland are under way, with both sides one game away from reaching Euro 2020.

England manager Gareth Southgate, speaking to ITV Sport: "We've had an incredible few months, so it's nice we can focus on football. The players are looking forward to playing and we are looking forward to seeing them play.
"I think it's obviously been a turbulent week for the FA but we need to focus on football. So much of my time at the moment is about not speaking about football. We have got to get on and try and win this game."
On Jack Grealish starting: "I think Jack has had a couple of months with us now, he is in super form for his club and he's got a good understanding now of the system we play. We're looking forward to seeing him play."
On Joe Gomez's injury: "I had a chat with Jurgen Klopp last night. We're always for player welfare and to lose a player in the way that we did yesterday, it was really tragic for the boy.
"Unfortunately the injury was so unique in the way it happened, it was probably a consequence of the number of games that have been played. There needs to be a look at the calendar. Fortunately we can have six subs for the Nations League."

Earlier today, football said goodbye to an England legend as the funeral of Nobby Stiles was held.
The 1966 World Cup winner died on 30 October aged 78.
The former Manchester United midfielder's hearse passed by Old Trafford earlier today, with fans paying their respects by leaving flowers outside the ground.
Stiles, as well as former Blackpool and England goalkeeper Tony Waiters - who died on 10 November - are due to be remembered at Wembley tonight with a minute's applause, while the players will wear black armbands.

Steve in MIlan: So what will we learn from a friendly? Nothing except it makes players more tired and the picked team wont play in competitive games....sorry for Grealish.
Sulaimon Adelekan: No matter who the Three Lions start is always going to be a strong and formidable team. I really don't care about international friendlies, hopefully the lads don't return to their respective clubs with injuries.

England manager Gareth Southgate has shown his faith in Harry Maguire by making him captain tonight. Maguire's last international was a 31-minute nightmare that ended in his sending off in the home defeat to Denmark.
He takes the armband tonight and will be hoping for better fortunes than that last miserable outing.
