A very official announcement beams out from the Old Trafford PA, something to do with the red zone. It's too late to try and call this off I'm afraid.

    FT: Manchester United 1-6 Tottenham

Tottenham were absolutely magnificent - organisation, desire, aggression with and without the ball, clinical in forward areas, every player was a 9/10.

They were absolutely sensational. It was one of the best performances I've seen at Old Trafford.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has a long chat with the officials before pointedly slapping all of his players on the back as they trudge off. Not sure you can get a 'well played lads' out of that one.

Aston Villa v Liverpool (19:15 BST)

Aston Villa hand a debut to Ross Barkley following his loan move from Chelsea.

VIlla change all 11 players from the side who lost to Stoke in the Carabao Cup on Thursday, with regulars like Jack Grealish, Tyrone Mings and Emiliano Martinez coming in.

Liverpool are without Alisson because of injury so Adrian starts in goal.

He is one of four players to keep their place in the line-up from the team who lost to Arsenal in the cup.

Diogo Jota, Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah are the others. Jota starts because Sadio Mane, like Thiago, has coronavirus.

With the exception of David de Gea, who couldn't really do anything about any of the goals, every other Manchester United player has probably been a 2/10 today.

You've got to say that Spurs have assembled a fantastic squad. I saw the team that played against Chelsea (in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday) and there was lots of international and they've come here with no Gareth Bale yet. Can they challenge?

This win is for all the ex players and managers who were deemed to be not good enough for Man Utd. What did Van Gaal do wrong? They got rid of Lukaku and had no backup striker what did he do wrong? What did Blind do wrong? Are any of the players on the pitch today better than when Fergie left? No. Disgrace to the shirt they wear

I don't think we're going to get to (seven). But what a momentous result, for both clubs.

Luke Shaw has been terrible today. All of Manchester United's defenders have been to be fair.

It is the perfect result for Utd as to cover up the cracks with a narrow defeat wouldn't do justice to show the deficiencies in this squad- it may force Utd to buy players tomorrow that they wouldn't have done had they drawn or lost this by narrow margin.

    Matt Radlett

Problem with this is all tomorrow's talk will be about Man Utd. Can we stop treating them as a huge now. OK obviously off the pitch massive, but on the pitch mediocre at best.

That's a terrible challenge! Lucas Moura is away down the right and Luke Shaw just clobbers him, a proper taking out. The ball was 20 yards away.

As Guy Mowbray says on comms, there's something twisted when that's only a booking and Anthony Martial saw red for stroking Erik Lamela's cheek.

Manchester United's transfer dealings should have been done by now. They can't get to within 24 hours of the deadline and start scrambling around. The irons should be well and truly in the fire by now.
