    Crystal Palace 1-0 Brighton

Really was against the run of play that goal. Brigjton had looked completely assured prior to it. But it was a bit of naivety from Lamptey. It is still quite soft, though.

They checked it on VAR, so the team at Stockley Park are convinced.

    Wilfred Zaha

No mistake from Zaha, who strikes in his fourth goal of the season.

Before the spot-kick, Albion keeper Mat Ryan was booked, presumably for something he said. The away side are not happy, but they are behind.

  3. PENALTY TO CRYSTAL PALACEpublished at 17 mins

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Brighton

From nowhere! Palace's first attacking move gives them a great chance to open the scoring. It is given for a Tariq Lamptey foul on Michy Batshuayi in the box. He took the striker down, or at least applied some contact to be taken advantage of.

I just hope to see Brighton put the ball in the box, to be honest. It wasn't something they did last time out against Everton. With the aerial threat they have, a good delivery is going to cause a real problem for Crystal Palace.

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Brighton

Brighton on top here. Lamptey is the target of a cross from deep but Guaita is out well to claim in the air.

Soon after, White nicks the ball as Palace look to play out from the back but drags a shot from the edge of the box wide of goal.

White and Zaha looks like it will be an interesting battle. Already having words. It looks as though White is being used to stop Palace playing the ball into the strikers feet.

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Brighton

The shoving match continues as the corner comes over before Guaita pushes the ball away to the far corner of the box. Bissouma is on to it in a flash and fires a shot into the side-netting.

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Brighton

Looks like White is on Zaha. They've had a little nibble at each other already off the ball and clash again as the Albion plays a ball before getting a shoulder.

Soon after, players start to push and shove in the box before a Brighton corner can be played. Who says you need fans for this game to have an edge?

Re Redfootball 13.53. Yes, happy with referees making errors if were stuck with VAR errors instead. No one appealed for a pen, no one saw a pen but 2 minutes later it is a pen. Joke.

    Jason, Reading

Ollie Wood: We should keep VAR as it was put in to end referee mistakes, however they are making too many VAR mistakes. To resolve this there should be a system like cricket's umpire's call in which when the decision is very tight they go for the decision made on-field.

Dan Burn has slotted into that left-side centre-back role and Ben White has been pushed into midfield alongside Yves Bissouma. Very much a different role for White today. They looked a bit lightweight in their last match so maybe Graham Potter is trying to counter that today.

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Brighton

Brighton charge down the left and some good determined play from March and then Trossard keeps the move alive to allow a cross to Lamptey, whose effort is blocked.

Stuart Atwell has just had a word with Michy Batshuayi. Looks like he had a little clash with Adam Webster, who stepped across the strikeer to prevent him closing down the Albion keeper. No cards, just a little warning.

ReindeerHotdog: Palace v Brighton should be a very entertaining game. Both teams have had decent starts and play exciting football. Solly March is a player that often goes unnoticed but he's an absolute workhorse. Townsend has also looked sharp.

Looks like we've got Ben White in a defensive midfield position for Albion. Means Lallana can get further forward, which he does to fire a shot that drifts wide of the target.

White filled in for Kalvin Phillips in front of a back four for Leeds last season, so he's not a stranger to the role.

Paul Malecki: First half I didn't think anybody could play as bad as McBurnie. Too many missed chances. Mitrovic had other ideas. So poor. Zero movement all game, didn't hold the ball up, missed penalty, gave away a penalty and missed a huge chance on the 93rd minute.

Selhurst Park is usually one of the best atmospheres in the Premier League. This will be a game where you really notice the fans not being here. The Holmesdale Fanatics have left a strong message for the players to see as they arrive.
