A rare Aston Villa attack as Douglas Luiz fires the ball into the box, it is headed away but John McGinn regains possession before Jack Grealish is caught heavily by Dennis Praet.

Grealish gets up to take the free kick but puts it too close to Kasper Schmeichel.

Another sweeping attack by Leicester, spreading the ball from right to left as they break towards the box but Dennis Praet's low cross is stabbed away.

The last game spoilt us. That had an explosive start but this one is certainly a slow burner. Fifteen minutes in and just that Ayoze Perez tame shot the only effort of note.

Leicester come forward again through Ayoze Perez but this time John McGinn steps across to pinch the ball from the feet of the Leicester man as he tried to cut into the box.

Leicester have the first shot of the game but it's nothing too worrying for Emiliano Martinez in the Aston Villa goal as he holds onto Ayoze Perez's shot.

All Leicester at the moment, Aston Villa haven't really had a sniff.

Kelechi Iheanacho has the visiting defence retreating as he runs at them and he then finds Harvey Barnes, who is quickly closed down and Aston Villa sweep up the danger.

Leicester have scored a lot of goals this season, but when you look closely at it, Jamie Vardy has scored five and five other players have scored one. That sums it up.

It is going to be a difficult night for Leicester without him, but he has had injuries before, they have had to come back from it and have had to stabalise around other players.

Kelechi Iheanacho has a big chance to put in a big performance.

This fixture back in March, by the way, was the last Premier League games to have had fans in attendance.

Feels like a lifetime ago now. As entertaining as this season has been so far despite the lack of crowds, it will be a great day when the doors are open to supporters once again.

When Villa came up, the way most teams were setting up was to stop Jack Grealish. They knew if they stopped Grealish, they stopped Villa. Now if defenders want to double up on Grealish, Villa have got Ross Barkley on the other side. His arrival has taken the onus off Grealish to be the only creator.

The final game of the day - three score draws so far and no draws yet for either of these sides in the Premier League this season. And no goalless draws at all in the top flight so far this term.

After Aston Villa's win against Liverpool, people will want to know if it was a fluke. For Villa to do that to Liverpool - a side that looked unbeatable for three seasons in the Premier League - that was an amazing result.

The last time Aston Villa visited Leicester they lost 4-0. Since then they avoided relegation and have started this season in superb fashion, winning all three of their Premier League games so far.

Leicester, meanwhile, have won three and lost one of their league games this season.

It should be a much-more tightly contested encounter than the last time they met at the King Power Stadium.

You have to give credit to West Ham in the way they have played but Spurs are potential title challengers because of the squad they have assembled.

This will do them good, to know they have to manage games better.

An old Jose Mourinho team at Chelsea would have seen that game out, they would have won the game.

It was the news Liverpool fans feared, with centre-back Virgil van Dijk suffering knee ligament damage at Everton yesterday and needing surgery.

Liverpool are not specifying a length of time for his absence until after his operation, which has yet to be arranged.

Club sources are reluctant to rule out a return to action this season for the Netherlands international as much will depend on Van Dijk’s rehab.

Van Dijk has played all of Liverpool's league games during the past two seasons and the hope is that his exceptional attitude and mentality will help in his recovery.

But he clearly faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines and will be assessed after surgery and during rehab to evaluate when he might return.

In-between the madness of quickfire early goals and late goals in that Tottenham-West Ham game the news came out about Virgil van Dijk needing knee surgery and facing a lengthy lay off. Just how big a blow will this be for Liverpool?
