Spurs are having to be so precise in and around the Burnley penalty area because of how close the Burnley defenders are.

And now there's a second shot on target for Burnley as Johann Gudmundsson cuts in from the right but hits an effort straight at Hugo Lloris.

No Burnley player has attempted more passes than goalkeeper Nick Pope (15).

The hosts have managed a shot on target, though, one more than Tottenham have.

Harry Kane is wayyyy back inside the Tottenham half, looking to pick up the ball from defence. Given the goals and assists he's managed so far this season I wouldn't be surprised if Jose Mourinho just lets him roam where he wants.

Charlie Taylor gets away from Matt Doherty on the left but his low cross is cleared by Toby Alderweireld.

Tanguy Ndombele is then shrugged off the ball by Josh Brownhill, who quickly finds Ashley Westwood and the Burnley man hits a low effort at goal that Hugo Lloris saves.

Burnley have a free kick now in a decent position as Lucas Moura catches Josh Brownhill just outside the box.

Brownhill fancies the free kick but can't keep his effort down and the ball flies over the bar.

Tanguy Ndombele does well on the left to slalom between Burnley defenders but goes for glory instead of looking for a team-mate and his shot from a difficult angle is cleared by Kevin Long.

James Tarkowski heads away Matt Doherty's cross from the right.

Thirty minutes gone and we are still waiting for a our first shot on target.

Spurs are moving the ball from side to side and Burnley are happy to sit in and are making it very difficult for Tottenham

Matt Doherty plays a ball along the edge of the area, hoping to find Lucas Moura but an alert Josh Brownhill sticks a foot in to take the ball away from danger.

At the other end, Ashley Barnes is again flagged offside as he whips in a cross that Toby Alderweireld deals with anyway.

All Tottenham at the moment but the early gaps Burnley were leaving exposed have been plugged and the home side are now repelling anything Spurs can offer.

Jose Mourinho slumps back into his seat. He will have been hoping to get an early goal before it became attritional.

Oooh a let off for Nick Pope as his poor kick is straight at Son Heung-min. The forward is fouled as he prepares to get a shot off and Spurs have a free-kick, which Ben Davies overhits and Burnley escape.

Tottenham's defence steps up as a ball is played over the top and Ashley Barnes is in. He is clearly offside, as are about three other Burnley players, but the flag stays down until after Barnes has thundered a shot into the back of the net.

Ashley Barnes now gets a knock himself as he is fouled by Moussa Sissoko. Tottenham play a very, very high line to keep Burnley away from their goal and it pays off as the free kick is cleared.

That was a lengthy spell of treatment but a patched up Toby Alderweireld is back up and good to continue.

Tottenham have got real options going forward and I really expect to see then scoring a lot of goals this season.
