He might not have got all the players he wanted during the transfer window but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer does have options on the Manchester United bench.

It surely can't be long before Edinson Cavani and Donny van de Beek are given a chance.

  6. CLOSE!published at 56 mins

    Manchester United 0-0 Arsenal

It might take a set-piece or a mistake to open this game up and Harry Maguire is up to smash a header across goal from a free-kick. It drifts wide at the Stretford End. neither on target or close enough to a team-mate. Decent chance all the same.

    Manchester United 0-0 Arsenal

It bears repeating that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has gone five league matches without a goal for the first time since November 2014, while playing for Borussia Dortmund.

During that five-game streak, the striker attempted only five shots in total and failed to land a shot on target on three occasions.

That's five-and-a-half games now, and counting.

He's right in the middle of the D. An in-form Aubameyang puts that in.

He just didn't have any conviction in the shot.

  9. CLOSE!published at 53 mins

    Manchester United 0-0 Arsenal

Close again! Fred hesitates in midfield and Alexandre Lacazette flies in to nick the ball away. He's running at retreating centre-halves, finds his captan on his shoulder and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang goes to bend it into the bottom corner...just wide!

A replay shows that came off the back of Victor Lindelof, who has made a few very timely interventions this afternoon.

Better one and two-touch football from United.

There's so much talent on the pitch, but players like Fernandes aren't getting touches on the ball. They need to try another way.

Not for the first time today, Mike Dean gets in the way in midfield. He's had more touches than a few United players...

What was THE United v Arsenal game in your mind? They're all at Highbury for me. The Keane-Vieira tunnel game surely the best. The Champions League semi-final when Ronaldo was in his pomp, too.

LondonMoney: I remember when this game was considered the fixture of the season - nowadays its not even the fixture of the day

MrMagic: This is the kinda game Arsenal lose. Dominate possession for ages, waste chances and then get caught by a sucker punch of a goal. Then they will get picked off on the break as they push for an equaliser. Hoping I’m wrong, but we’ve all seen it many times before.

More promise from United already, they've won a few corners with Mason Greenwood threatening down the right. From the second corner Harry Maguire heads wide.

He wants a penalty for a pull of his shirt which considering what he got away with against Chelsea...

  15. Postpublished at 46 mins

Bruno Fernandes delivers a wonderful cross from out wide but Rob Holding deals with it well. Arsenal haven't won at Old Trafford in the league since an Emmanuel Adebayor toe-bunger in 2006.

I mentioned before kick-off that there wasn't much width in the Manchester United team and here's the average positions map of that first half.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Luke Shaw are being asked to provide all of the width and it's not happening. Very congested in the centre there.
