  3. What's happened so farpublished at 20:54 British Summer Time 5 October 2020

Given it's very very quiet on the transfer front, it's maybe time to recap on what's happened so far.

    • Hibernian signed St Mirren captain Kyle Magennis after the Paisley club 'reluctantly' let him go
    • Defender Greg Leigh has returned to Aberdeen, where he spent half of last season on loan, on a short-term deal
    • Josh Mullin has gone back to Livingston having left Ross County
    • County have themselves signed Charlie Lakin on loan from Birmingham
    • St Johnstone have signed Israeli striker Guy Melamed

    Who knows what's to come...

  4. Lakin not guaranteed game time - Kettlewellpublished at 20:43 British Summer Time 5 October 2020

Following the signing of Birmingham City midfielder Charlie Lakin on loan, Ross County boss Stuart Kettlewell says the box-to-box midfielder will have to work hard to get the game time he desires.

"Charlie is somebody that has some really good qualities in the middle of the park," Kettlewell told the club's website.

"He is young but has had some good experiences so far and has had some good moments both offensively and defensively which made us eager to try and get him to the Highlands.

"Charlie has had a good development pathway and his next step is his loan spell here where he will want to get games and good performances under his belt. We have a really competitive group and he will know how hard he will have to work here to push himself on."

Much of the talk during this strange transfer window has been about whether Dundee United and Ross County will be able to keep hold of star strikers Lawrence Shankland and Ross Stewart.

The answer to that question appears to be yes with both players now looking certain to stay where they are. In its own way, that bit of business could be just as important, if not more so, than anything else the two clubs have done on the recruitment front.

  11. Davidson 'delighted' with Melamed signingpublished at 19:56 British Summer Time 5 October 2020

St Johnstone manager Callum Davidson insists he's delighted with the capture of Israeli striker Guy Melamed on a free transfer but says the 27-year-old has to prove himself.

"Guy's a little bit unknown over here and has something to prove," Davidson told the club's website.

"From watching videos of him play, I thought his movement in the box was very good. We had been looking to either go for a target man or someone to score goals, and I believe we have gone for the latter option.

"It's difficult with the current situation but he will be in quarantine due to the rules. But once we have him in we will get him up to speed in training and we will get him involved with the boys. He's lively and I hope he settles in well."

  12. Zungu to Rangers?published at 19:50 British Summer Time 5 October 2020

Reports in France suggest Rangers' long-standing interest in Amiens midfielder Bongani Zungu has been revived.

He played in his native South Africa, as well as Portugal before arriving in France. He featured regularly in Ligue 1 last season as Amiens were controversially relegated back to the second tier when the season was curtailed.

Steven Gerrard has said he would like to add another midfielder. Would he fit the bill Rangers fans?

  18. More to come from Mullin?published at 19:14 British Summer Time 5 October 2020

Livingston's Head of football operations David Martindale is expecting big things of new signing Josh Mullin, after he returned to the club following his departure from Ross County.

"I brought Josh here from Albion Rovers originally as you could see the potential he had and it's fair to say he has kicked on massively and I personally believe there is still more to come," he told the Livingston club website.

"Since the day Josh left the building, I've been actively looking to replace him with a modicum of success. I never thought that trying to find a right-footed, right-winger would be so hard!"

I wouldn't say it's fair. But it's a solution. There will be problems with the fixture congestion. If they took the action to postpone this game, who knows where that will lead to if they have to continue to do that. I just think it's the common sense approach.
