    Rangers have been busy in the transfer market with Ianis Hagi joining on a permanent deal, while forwards Kemar Roofe and Cedric Itten also signed.

    They have been linked to midfielders, such as Muhamed Besic and Bongani Zungu, with South Africa's Zungu reportedly close to putting pen to paper.

    Celtic striker Jack Aitchison has left the club to join Barnsley on a three-year deal.

    Aitchison became the club’s youngest ever scorer after scoring against Motherwell back in 2016, but hasn’t featured for Celtic's first-team since 2017.

    Kilmarnock have forfeited their Scottish League Cup opener against Falkirk after their entire first-team squad was forced to self-isolate following six cases of Covid-19.

    The club asked the SPFL if the game could be rescheduled, but say their request was refused.

    It means League One side Falkirk have been awarded a 3-0 victory.

    New Hibs signing Kyle Magennis is exactly the sort of player the Easter Road club wanted to sign, says head coach Jack Ross.

    "If there is a profile of the kind of player we are looking to bring to the club to add to the group then Kyle fits it," Ross said.

    "He is young, hungry, can play in a number of positions and has plenty room for improvement."

    Celtic have been linked with, external the loan signing of AC Milan defender Diego Laxalt.

    Fans have been clamouring for a left-back, with Greg Taylor currently the only natural option to play wing-back on that side in Neil Lennon's preferred 3-5-2 formation.

    A Uruguay international who has 24 caps, Laxalt has played for Inter and Genoa as well as a loan spell at Torino in Serie A so comes with decent pedigree.

    Since recovering from injury, Lawrence Shankland has taken to the Premiership like a duck to water, continuing his phenomenal form from last term.

    Dundee United manager Micky Mellon is not expecting him to leave between now and the deadline.

    "There is nothing that I have been told to brace myself for or wait for and there really hasn’t ever been anything," he said.

    "I think that we are very keen to try and keep moving Dundee United forward and we see Lawrence as a massive part of helping us do that.

    "I don’t expect anything to happen and I have not been told to brace myself to expect anything to happen."

    Dundee United, who have been strongly linked with Scotland forward Marc McNulty, are hopeful they'll have one more face through the door by the time the deadline passes.

    "Optimistic we may get one done," manager Micky Mellon told reporters.
