    Off we go again!

    Fingers crossed for some goals.

    Aston Villa 0-0 Leeds

For all their attacking threat, Leeds have managed to land just one of their 10 shots on target so far.

Patrick Bamford has had half of those opportunities and the visitors need him to put on his shooting boots at the break if they're going to leave Villa Park with the points.

The players are on their way back out for the second half now.

Jack Grealish is the best at drawing fouls. He leaves the leg. I am aware of it and as a player against him I would not like it. I would be marking the cards of the officials.

    Aston Villa 0-0 Leeds

It hasn't quite clicked for Villa so far tonight, going by their recent standards, but Jack Grealish has been at the heart of their good attacking play.

He would have his third goal of the season had it not been for Luke Ayling's goal-line clearance, while the England midfielder was also aggrieved he was not awarded a penalty following Helder Costa's tackle from behind.

There didn't appear to be enough contact from Costa to warrant a penalty, though.

    Aston Villa 0-0 Leeds

Aston Villa remain the only side yet to fall behind at any stage of a match in this season's Premier League.

They were made to defend well for long periods by Leeds in that first half but Emiliano Martinez remains on course for yet another clean sheet in an Aston Villa shirt.

Embarrassing for a manager to not trust his holding midfielder just because he got an early yellow. Bielsa will get found out by Smith.

Into one minute of injury-time at Villa Park we go but it looks like we'll be heading into the break goalless following that Patrick Bamford chance.

  9. CLOSE!published at 44 mins

    Aston Villa 0-0 Leeds

    Patrick Bamford again!

Jack Harrison delivers a great pass in to Bamford from the left and the Leeds striker's first-time shot flies wide to the left of Emiliano Martinez' goal.

I knew Jack Grealish was going to fall, he is so good at leaving his foot in. It goes against him though sometimes.

He deliberately falls over. There are times when he is fouled a lot and there are times when he buys a fall.

There's a quick VAR check for that Helder Costa tackle on Jack Grealish as he cut into the Leeds penalty area but there's nothing given.

A good spell for Aston Villa here as we edge towards half-time.

Jack Grealish wriggles into the box and goes down under a challenge from Helder Costa!

Will the referee look at that?

I played with a young Ross Barkley when he was on loan at Leeds and I was so impressed with his raw talent. He has turned into a wonderful footballer.

Dean Smith said the Euros is a target of his and I think that is realistic.

    Aston Villa 0-0 Leeds

Aston Villa earn a corner and there's a bit of pushing and shoving to sort out before Jack Grealish can send in a cross.

Illan Meslier is able to gather and immediately tries to launch a Leeds attack - but Matty Cash is back to cover and cuts out the threat.

Leeds play the corner short and Ezgjan Alioski whips in a left-footed cross from Mateusz Klich's pass which is caught comfortably by Emiliano Martinez.

    Aston Villa 0-0 Leeds

Patrick Bamford has had four shots at Emiliano Martinez' goal so far.

No other player on the pitch has registered more than one yet.

Another corner here for Leeds - can he get another one?

Mateusz Klich swings in a corner from the left and Patrick Bamford rises highest but can't get on top of the ball with his header.

Leeds just keep on coming at Villa in this first half.

    Aston Villa 0-0 Leeds

Leeds are looking to win consecutive Premier League away games for the first time in 18 years this evening.

But they're also one defeat away from 100 defeats away from Elland Road in the competition.

Marcelo Bielsa must be pleased with what he's seen in this first half so far - Pascal Struijk's short appearance aside - but his side need to make their good start count.

It is so close, after seeing the replay. Brilliant play by Luke Ayling. He recovered very, very well.

    OFF THE LINE!

That's great defending by Luke Ayling.

A loose cross rolls through the Leeds box and falls to Villa captain Jack Grealish, who takes aim but sees his low shot stabbed away by Leeds skipper Ayling.

A first real chance for Villa - and the first time Leeds have really looked vulnerable.
