The previous five finals to be staged here have been comparatively one-sided.

The Everton substitutes, sitting a few rows apart from one another in the stands, all jump to their feet to celebrate alone, solo style, clenching fists, clapping hands. Even they can't hug their mates! But they look absolutely delighted.

It's turned out to be a great decision to allow Valerie Gauvin to play on after the break.

It's a brilliant header. Her movement and the way she gets between City's defenders to get something on it, that's great play by Valerie Gauvin.

City look to respond immediately with a corner of their own. Alex Greenwood's delivery doesn't beat the first player at the near post but it's kept in by Ellen White.

It is swung back in by Greenwood but Steph Houghton can't bring it under control before Rose Lavelle gives away a free-kick on the edge of the Everton box.

Damaris Egurrola forces a smart save from Ellie Roebuck, who tips her header inches over the bar after Valerie Gauvin's initial shot was blocked.

So close from Everton! They have a corner.

Hayley Raso is caught by the studs of Rose Lavelle, who tried to roll it past her on the touchline.

Everton get forward on the right and it's Raso - still walking a bit gingerly - who puts the cross in. It bounces off Demi Stokes and out for a corner.

What a stop that is by Sandy MacIver. Outstanding goalkeeping. I was expecting the ball to go into the back of the net.

Lovely move from City. How have they not scored?!

Rose Lavelle plays a perfectly-weighted through ball to Caroline Weir, who slides in and pokes it onto the right post.

It bounces back out into the middle but Chloe Kelly's powerful shot is tipped on to the bar brilliantly by Sandy MacIver. Stunning save!

Ellie Roebuck is pushed deep by the Everton press and her hurried pass over to Alex Greenwood is intercepted by Hayley Raso out on the right wing.

Everton can't make the most of it.

Alex Greenwood skews the long ball over to Chloe Kelly, who had made a nice run on the right.

They both turn around and give each other a thumbs up.

Demi Stokes cuts inside off the left and drifts past Hayley Raso. She tries to thread it through to Ellen White but it takes an important nick off Izzy Christiansen.

Megan Finnigan and Demi Stokes end up in a bundle in the left corner. Everton boss Willie Kirk wants a free-kick but it's not given and Rose Lavelle almost comes away with it on the byline.

Kirk then prevents himself from falling over as he retrives a ball in his dugout, before Alex Greenwood is caught from behind by Hayley Raso.

She's hopping around a bit gingerly too. A classic 'run it off' attempt by Valerie Gauvin but I'm not sure how much longer she will last.

I'm really surprised Valerie Gauvin has come out for the second half. Obviously it's great news for Everton because she seemed in so much pain. She's got a lot of strapping on.

Quick start from City. Rose Lavelle drops into the middle and links up with Caroline Weir.

It comes through to Sam Mewis in the box and she's able to turn and shoot but it's deflected up and into Sandy MacIver's arms.

Everton's France striker Valerie Gauvin is back out there, having just rolled her socks up over some white strapping that has been added around her right leg at the break.

Back under way for the second half at Wembley.

Everton's substitutes are all on the pitch at half time warming up. Will Willie Kirk make any changes? Is Valerie Gauvin okay to carry on?
