When you look at the amount of possession, Manchester City have dominated. Everton rode the wave of that but they have been really frustrated because set-pieces win or lose you games. To be undone by one will be really frustrating for Everton.

The Everton bench look really concerned as Valerie Gauvin, their marquee summer signing, gingerly limps around the outside of the pitch, very slowly making her way back to the dressing room. She's the last person back down the tunnel.

This is the closest Everton have come so far. Still no shots on target yet.

Bill Kenwright - 'Mr Everton' - is at Wembley to support the women's team after choosing this match over the club's Premier League game at Newcastle, which is taking place at the same time.

He'll be hoping his side can find a way back in the second half.

It's the tight game we expected. Manchester City have shown more going forward and are very much on the front foot. But Everton will still believe they can get back into this.

Sam Mewis' header is the difference. City dominating at Wembley so far.

Lucy Graham and Lucy Bronze are standing over Valerie Gauvin as she receives treatment on the pitch but she doesn't look in a good way.

She is eventually hoisted up by the medical staff and hobbles off but a few players have been sent to warm up.

Better from Everton who are committing more players forward. That's definitely a fair challenge by Steph Houghton on Valerie Gauvin.

Gauvin looks in some pain.

Lucy Bronze whips a cross in from the right but Sandy MacIver comes out to collect. Everton then break quickly but Valerie Gauvin's touch is a bit heavy.

Steph Houghton sprints across, slides in and makes a brilliant challenge. Gauvin is down in pain though. She's really hurt. Houghton definitely caught her with the follow through.

Izzy Christiansen wins a free-kick in the right corner for Everton and it's floated over to the back post.

But Ellie Roebuck takes command as it's headed back across the middle - taking out goalscorer Sam Mewis in the process. She'll be fine though.

At 6ft tall, Sam Mewis doesn't need half a yard on her marker to have an aerial advantage in the penalty area, but she got one anyway. Everton will be really disappointed that they weren't tighter to the United States midfielder.

But it's a super delivery, right in to the mixer.

What a header this is for Sam Mewis. You talk about players needing time to adapt but she's come straight in and is making a real impact. She gets the leap and it's a real powerful header.

The space opens up for Caroline Weir as Everton back off on the edge of the box. She drills it low towards the bottom right corner but it takes a deflection off Rikke Sevecke.

The rain is starting to pour now at Wembley. Sam Mewis almost combines with her USA teammate Rose Lavelle but the latter can't bring it under control in the box.

Hayley Raso then slips in a 50-50 challenge with Lucy Bronze, while Valerie Gauvin gets up gingerly after sliding in for a tackle a few moments earlier.

The Frenchwoman squeezes a shot in but Ellie Roebuck just about clings on to it. City try to go up the other end with Ellen White but the flag is up.
