    Chelsea 0-1 Sheffield United

Decent reaction from the hosts as Tammy Abraham buys himself a yard of space with a neat hip swerve, he opens up the goal but his shot in the end is tame and straight at Aaron Ramsdale.

Timo Werner stll wide left. A bugbear.

    Chelsea 0-1 Sheffield United

Sheffield United are one of just four clubs against whom Chelsea have lost more Premier League games than they’ve won (W3 L4), alongside Oldham Athletic (W0 L3), Liverpool (W20 L23) and Arsenal (W19 L20).

David McGoldrick's first Premier League goal came against Chelsea in July and he's at it again. They've started really well and now win a free-kick - Edouard Mendy comes and claims though.

GOAL - Chelsea 0-1 Sheffield Unitedpublished at 17:41 Greenwich Mean Time 7 November 2020

    David McGoldrick (9 mins)

Chelsea haven't conceded for an age but they have now! A fine goal too and a deserved one.

Sheffield United work a short corner, Ollie Norwood's reverse pass blindsides Chelsea and finds George Baldock in space.

He cuts the ball back, Sander Berge shoots from the edge of the box and David McGoldrick instinctively backheels it into the opposite corner. Superb!

    Chelsea 0-0 Sheffield United

Great ball! What a knock from (I think) John Egan, who floats a ball about 65 yards from defence into the run of George Baldock.

The wing-back's run is perfect and his low shot is well blocked by Ben Chilwell.

    Chelsea 0-0 Sheffield United

Possibly the only debate that has gone on longer than the US election is the one over where it's best to play N'Golo Kante. The Frenchman is in the middle and the deepest of a three again today, as there is no Jorginho. He snaps in to a challenge to start a Chelsea counter.

    His best role, surely?

  7. GREAT SAVE!published at 4 mins

    Chelsea 0-0 Sheffield United

Sander Berge hooks the ball forward as Chelsea try and pen the Blades back. Timo Werner has been among the goals for Chelsea but he's starting wide on the left, and he's close to meeting a good ball in from the right.

It goes through to Ben Chilwell, whose shot is well saved by Aaron Ramsdale!

The Blades have only mustered one point from the last 30 available - a dreadful run. That's an excellent start though as Chris Basham pops up in the Chelsea area and pulls over a low cross which is well defended...

  11. 'It's ruining the game'published at 17:32 Greenwich Mean Time 7 November 2020

    FT: Crystal Palace 4-1 Leeds

    Leeds United

Leeds striker Patrick Bamford: "They knew our game plan well. They jumped and took the ball in key positions. If it gets to 2-2 it's a different game. Things can change. It could have been a different game. They deserved to win, I'm not denying that but things could have been different."

On his goal being ruled out: "I thought it was just a formality checking it. I thought it would be fine. I've been playing seven years and I don't understand the rule now. Nobody really knows. The ref when I asked him didn't really know. I'm not just saying it because it's my goal but I've seen plenty on the TV. It's ruining the game I think.

"I'm enjoying my football but it's hard to say after you've just lost the game. It's a shame today the goal means nothing as we came away with no points. Hopefully the next goal helps us win the game.

"I think we had a really good start. It was surprising and I don't think many people expected it. The last few games have been disappointing. It's a solid start and something to build on. Maybe the international break has come at a good time."

  13. 'A fair defeat'published at 17:28 Greenwich Mean Time 7 November 2020

    Crystal Palace 4-1 Leeds

    Leeds United

Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa tells BBC Sport: "It is not only two games, it has been four game where he have conceded four goals. We are receiving a lot of goals. What else did you ask?

"It was a fair defeat. It could have been by a shorter distance, the goals of Palace arrived when we looked like getting back into the game.

"I never discuss a referee's decision. Despite all the goals we are conceding, he (Illan Meslier) has been performing to a high level."

Funny how signing a keeper who actually saves shots makes a difference eh? City found out and now Chelsea are doing so.

Chelsea’s Edouard Mendy has kept a clean sheet in each of his three Premier League starts, and could become just the fourth keeper to keep a clean sheet in each of his first four in the competition after Alex Manninger, Pepe Reina and Anders Lindegaard.

  16. 'Win games because of the players' quality'published at 17:24 Greenwich Mean Time 7 November 2020

    Crystal Palace 4-1 Leeds

    Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson: "I can't comment on how fascinating it was but it was a highly competitive game. We played well and it was good value for our victory. It was a good win against a team that has started so well and has a style of play which is different to what we're used to seeing. In terms of our attacking play, we were excellent.

"The game plan every week... you try to make your players as well prepared as they possibly can be. So of course I'm very happy with that but the gameplan depends on one thing - the players you put on the field. It's their quality. You win games because the players on the field play so well.

"I thought his [Eberechi Eze's] whole performance was very good. You couldn't fault him in any way. The goal for me was the icing on the cake.

"We aren't the highest scoring team in the league. We never have been and perhaps never will be but it's important to score more than the opposition.

"I'm a little disappointed that players have to go as far as Africa to play matches. I don't think it's great but it's something we have to do. I hope this time, the countries they play for, they look after them well. Last time we lost Jordan Ayew playing for Ghana, I'm rather hoping that won't be the case again."

  17. Postpublished at 17:22 Greenwich Mean Time 7 November 2020

Chelsea v Sheffield United (17:30 GMT)

Chris Wilder has done nothing but win since the start of the 2015-16 season but he's hit a sticky patch.

One point from seven games marks Sheffield United’s joint-worst ever start to a league campaign in their history (level with 1975-76, when they finished bottom of the top-flight). Meanwhile, the Blades haven’t remained winless in their first eight games of a league campaign since 1990-91.

    Time to stop the rot?

Crystal Palace forward Eberechi Eze: "We performed well today, showed what we are about on and off the ball.

"We worked hard for each other.

"It felt good, it was a free-kick I have been practising. It is something I enjoy doing. It came off today.

"Every young kid is aiming and striving to be the best they can be, I am honoured and grateful to be here.

"We look at each game as it comes and not look too far ahead.

"I hope so (for more goals). That would be nice."

    I certainly don't.

  20. 'I don't understand the rule'published at 17:11 Greenwich Mean Time 7 November 2020

    Crystal Palace 4-1 Leeds

    Leeds United

Leeds striker Patrick Bamford to BBC: "I don't understand the rule. You can't score with your arm. It doesn't make sense. It's happened with me today but I've seen it on numerous occasions. It's ruining football. You want to see goals. To have it ruled out for something like that is daft.

"Even the referee couldn't make sense of it. When the players and the officials can't make sense of it... does it make sense?

"Today the performance was better than against Leicester. Palace had a good game plan and we were a bit sloppy. We didn't move the ball quick enough. International break has come at the right time. You can look back at the first eight games and think it's been a solid start.

"We always go into a game thinking we're going to win. Sometimes it doesn't work out. I can imagine it's enjoyable watching Leeds. It's enjoyable to play for them but it's frustrating when you don't get the win."
