  1. 'I don't analyse referees'published at 18:24 Greenwich Mean Time 7 November 2020

    Crystal Palace 4-1 Leeds

    Leeds United

Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa: "It was a fair defeat. It could have been by more goals or less goals. Their goals arrived when we deserved to score and this left us trailing to get back into the game.

"The decisions that the referee takes, I don't analyse them, not for VAR either. Sometimes goals are linked to what the opponents do not want to do.

"How could it (conceding goals) not worry me?

"It is not a question of training more, apart from that the international break does not help us train because most of our players are away.

"Jamie Shackleton picked up a muscular problem in training on Friday and Pablo Hernandez has no injury, just was not picked for this game."

Oliver: This Chelsea team is not set up right and will lose today unless Frank changes it. Mount is too deep. Werner is too wide. It's not well balanced

RE Luke [17:57] - Luke is in cloud cuckoo land if he believes games against Sevilla in the Champions League, then Man U and Burnley away constitutes an 'easy run of games'.

  4. 'You're talking to the wrong man'published at 18:22 Greenwich Mean Time 7 November 2020

    Crystal Palace 4-1 Leeds

    Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson to BBC: "We played very well. You know the imagery and effort when you play this Leeds team, you know they won't give up and will run after every hopeless case. It was important we had the tactical discipline that we had and important we played as well on the ball as we did. We took those opportunities well and were very good value for those four goals.

"I thought the attacking was measured from both teams. I think they would have wanted to flood our defence more but that was stopped by the work rate of our forwards. When they did get wide, we got out very quickly to stop their crosses. We knew if we could defend then when we got the ball, as long as we showed some composure, we would have space to play."

On Eberechi Eze's goal: "They love to spend a lot of time after the game practising free-kicks but it was a wonderful goal. It put us 2-0 up and should have given us a platform to reach at half time. We did concede unfortunately. But we know that wins are hard to come by and when you get one you have to be happy with that success then come down to earth quick enough so you start from 0 the next time you take to the field."

On Patrick Bamford's goal being ruled out: "I think you're asking the wrong man. I think in the last few games we've had goals ruled out by fine margins and a player unjustly sent off. I'm afraid you're speaking to the wrong man if you want sympathy for VAR. The amount of time your programme would give me would never be long enough for me to talk about VAR, let me tell you."

    Nope it's not.

Chelsea started shoddily and fell behind but then were very good to be honest.

Oooohhhhhh that's a bit dodgy! Chelsea look messy while defending a corner again as this time a cross whizzes through the goalmouth and new keeper Edouard Mendy flaps at it a bit. He then has to save a shot from John Lundstram. A test.

  8. GREAT SAVE!published at 39 mins

    Chelsea 2-1 Sheffield United

Nearly three! A corner is not dealt with, Tammy Abraham wins the second ball and nods it on and Ben Chilwell is able to volley toward goal through a crowd.

Aaron Ramsdale won't have seen that until late and gets down smartly to make a good one-handed save.

It was Hakim Ziyech's pass that picked out Ben Chilwell, the signing from Ajax is growing in influence per game. John Egan now goes into the book fro hauling down Timo Werner.

    Chelsea well on top.

    Ben Chilwell (34 mins)

But Chelsea do now lead, they've come from behind! It's really poor defending from Max Lowe.

A Chelsea corner is played short, then fizzed diagonally to the far post. Lowe seems content to let the ball go through, but Ben Chilwell is right behind him and hooks home from a few yards out. AWAY!

Dimos: If there ever was a game that fit Giroud upfront it’s this one tonight. As an Arsenal fan I’d take him back by the way , add that plan-B option.

Luke: Chelsea and Mendy have had a very easy run of games. Clean sheets would be expected as a minimum for top sides, was nothing to get excited about in the first instance. It was always a myth Chelsea could still defend.

  15. goal

GOAL - Chelsea 1-1 Sheffield Unitedpublished at 17:55 Greenwich Mean Time 7 November 2020

    Tammy Abraham (23 mins)

A bobbler! Chelsea get a touch of luck but they are level! It's a nice move, Hakim Ziyech playing the ball over the top into the run of Mateo Kovacic, who manages to hook the ball over his shoulder into the middle.

Tammy Abraham is in space, he miscues his shot, duffing it down into the turf but the bounce loops over Chris Basham's head and into the far corner. They all count!
