At the moment you wouldn't say this is a Jurgen Klopp side or a Pep Guardiola side, both teams just smashing it. It's quite incredible the transformation from the first half to the second.

A draw here could see Liverpool in third place, behind Leicester and Spurs. City would be 11th.

James Milner has played every outfield position except centre back during his career. Incredible player, underrated and a great professional.

    Tom in London

to be honest I'd put Milner in goal ahead of Adrian

    Phil

The only position Milner is yet to play is in goal or at CB I believe

    A couple of thoughts there.

Michael - Alisson got injured last season

Michael: Don't want to see any player get injured, but it'll be interesting to see how Liverpool cope this season with a couple injuries to key players - something that never really happened to them last season.

Comparing this 2nd half to the 1st half is like lockdown 2 to lockdown 1. All the excitement gone, seeing nothing to look forward to.

Corner to the Reds now as Mohamed Salah has a cross blocked and then holds his torso. He was winded perhaps.

Liverpool right-back James Milner does well to head away a long ball before fellow number seven Raheem Sterling can run in on goal.

    Man City 1-1 Liverpool

    Robbie Savage
Ex-Wales midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

Bit scrappy in the last five minutes, few substitutes haven't really had the energy as the first half did. But that would be quite hard to replicate, the speed. You just wonder, the Kevin de Bruyne penalty miss, how costly will that be for City?

  12. Postpublished at 66 mins

    Man City 1-1 Liverpool

I wonder if James Milner has played everywhere except goals at this stage.

Utility man James Milner is on for Trent Alexander-Arnold.

  15. Postpublished at 63 mins

    Man City 1-1 Liverpool

This doesn't look great for Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold. He needs treatment on his calf.

He chased a City player down and then passed the ball and he's hurt himself somewhere in there.

  16. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 62 mins

    Man City 1-1 Liverpool

Manchester City make a change - Bernardo Silva replaces Ferran Torres. That's a good option to bring off the bench.
