    Man City 1-1 Liverpool

    Manchester City

Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus, speaking to BBC Sport: "The result is not good for us, we know that because we are at home and have to try to win our games here but it was a tough game. They are the champions but we cannot drop these points.

"I feel good and feel confident. Of course it is different, my physical condition is not the same and now I go to my international team and try to help my country and when I come back I will try to come back in good physical condition. That is the challenge for me, keep fit and don't get injured because this season is going to be dangerous for players because too many games."

  3. 'The result is not good for us'published at 18:37 Greenwich Mean Time 8 November 2020

    Man City 1-1 Liverpool

    Manchester City

City scorer Gabriel Jesus speaking to Sky Sports: "It was a top game. We know they work hard and have a lot of amazing players. We had a chance to win the game.

"Both teams wanted to win. Sometimes when it's like this you have to control the ball more. We have to keep playing like this and try to convert the chances.

"We played at home and we have to win the games here. The result is not good for us and maybe it's good for them."

On the goal: "I did mean to trick the defender. I tried it and I scored."

Lots of rain and a heavy pitch turned it into a bit of a struggle second half. Think Liverpool might be slightly happier with a point than City though. Draw feels a fair result.

    Keith in Leeds

That second half was a clear result of fixture congestion. Quality of football will keep reducing and injuries will keep increasing if the best teams are playing 3 times a week.

    Hadi in London

Well that really was a game of 2 halves but a point at City is never a bad result.

The BBC's football commentator John Murray when discussing the amount of games that Liverpool and Man City have played in recent weeks used the analogy:

"You can't expect fillet steak all the time, at some point you're going to run into corned beef hash."

  7. 'Take a point and move on'published at 18:33 Greenwich Mean Time 8 November 2020

    Man City 1-1 Liverpool

    Liverpool

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson, speaking to Sky Sports: "I thought it was a good game, always going to be difficult against City. The shape was really good, yes we could do one or two things better but overall I thought it was a solid performance, especially defensively.

"I felt we could get the winner with the quality we have up front, only takes one moment. I felt quite comfortable defending, it was a lot of work but it always is going to be against City. They are a fantastic team and I think you have to take a point and move on."

On the Manchester City penalty: "People will say I am biased because it is against us but I saw one similar in the Leicester game. Joe is running back to his own goal, where is he going to put his arms? I think it is so difficult for defenders. I felt it was harsh but they have been pretty consistent. In the Leicester game they gave it and they gave it today but for us as players I think it is harsh."

You've got to say now after watching that second half, Arsenal, Spurs, Leicester, any of these teams could now win the Premier League ahead of Man City or Liverpool.

  10. 'My admiration for the players grows by the day'published at 18:30 Greenwich Mean Time 8 November 2020

    FT: Leicester 1-0 Wolves

    Leicester City

Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers, speaking to MOTD: "We were outstanding in the first half. We had to be clever with our passing and we were good with our positioning. We knew we had to be patient without the ball.

"The players really dug-in in the second half and apart from Kasper's brilliant save we didn't have too much trouble.

"Overall it's a big, big three points and we have nine wins in 11 games.

"With the injuries we've got, my admiration for the players grows by the day. The young boys have stood up to it really well.

"James Justin's journey from League One to the Premier League, he has played right wing-back and left wing-back, he's an absolutely incredible player.

"Wesley Fofana, you'd think he had played 250 games with his maturity. The recruitment team did an incredible job to identify him.

"We look forward to an exciting season. We're only eight games in and have 30 to go. We'll look where we are at around March."

  11. 'Harry will want another 150'published at 18:28 Greenwich Mean Time 8 November 2020

    West Brom 0-1 Tottenham

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham's Eric Dier: "We are really happy to be top. We are still a bit disappointed with the points we’ve got. To be top is nice but there is still a long, long way to go.

On Harry Kane scoring his 150th Premier League goal: "Fantastic record. He broke one in midweek and now he has another one. It won’t affect him too much, he will want another 150.

“Big games after the international break but they are the games you want to be playing, you want to be in a position where you are fighting for something and we are in that position.

"It is nice to go into the international break with a win."

  12. 'I'm happy with the number of points we have' - Mourinhopublished at 18:27 Greenwich Mean Time 8 November 2020

    West Brom 0-1 Tottenham

    Tottenham Hotspur

Spurs boss Jose Mourinho: "We are top of the table but other clubs have matches in hand - if Liverpool win and Leicester win it's not a problem for me. Three victories in a row for the first time in a season. To win 10 points from 12 possible means we compensate for the points we dropped at home.

"The West Brom boys they showed how they are with Slaven [Bilic]. The way they tried to get that positive result says everything. With this commitment they will move from this place where they are now.

"I always thought during the game to change structure will help us, but I didn't want to change too early. I didn't want to lose control of the game which we had on the second half. They were very good tactically. They reduced the intensity of the game.

"These two wins away - 1-0 at Burnley and here - they can tell us it's not always to play beautiful. You can't always score three of four times and be fluid.

"Now we leave the stadium top and when we arrive in London we're third. I'm happy with the number of points we have now."

Mark: Leicester, best in the Prem right now? On the evidence of this "Clash of the Titans" I'd say we have a good case.

Liverpool playing with no ambition - a draw is good for them. But why then is Klopp leaving things at 424? Dangerous
