    Man City 1-1 Liverpool

Gabriel Jesus' equaliser (19) was the most passes in the build-up to a Premier League goal against Liverpool since September 2017.

That was also a Jesus goal assisted by Kevin de Bruyne at the Etihad - and also 19 passes.

    Spooky.

What a first half - big moments, big talking points. Goals, missed penalties, honesty from Raheem Sterling at one end, staying on his feet. For me, I wouldn't blame anyone for going down in that situation. Sadio Mane gets the penalty and it was a penalty, it was slight contact from Kyle Walker. What a game though, loving it.

This was just towards the end of the first half

Bernardo Silva is warming up on the touchline - is there an injury or is Pep Guardiola thinking about a tactical change?

Anyone else really suprised that nobody has actually missed a penalty in the Premier League, excluding the woodwork, in two years?

The half-time whistle goes. A great first half for the neutral. City will feel they should lead after Kevin de Bruyne missed a pen.

De Bruyne obviously agreed that the handball rule is ridiculous. Justice.

    James

These penalties are a joke. What is a defender supposed to do?

    James in Wimbledon

If you’re a defender now, don’t bother getting your arms out of the way, it’s being given whatever happens. VAR is the biggest disgrace it’s not even funny anymore.

Liverpool are so close to taking the lead. Sadio Mane does well and tees up Mohamed Salah. He feeds Trent Alexander-Arnold, whose shot is saved by Ederson.

The ball squirms under the goalkeeper but he turns and pounces on the loose ball before Diogo Jota can tap into an empty net from three yards out.

Joe Gomez's arm was in front of him. He didn't mean to handle but I've seen a lot more dubious ones than that given.
