Anon RE: L [17:00] - would any player apart from De Bruyne get in the Liverpool team, I wouldn't even have De Bruyne in there! Such an overated player...

Steve, Wirral: I'd definitely have Laporte in for Gomez. Wouldn't you?

He's not frustrated any more - just what Pep Guardiola and Manchester City needed. Magnificent sharp work in the penalty box by Gabriel Jesus.

Magnificent goal the way they kept the ball. Andy Robertson is playing Gabriel Jesus onside. Magnificent play the way they shift Liverpool around and the ball gets played to Kyle Walker, good ball into Kevin de Bruyne in number 10 position and a bit of skill from Jesus. Great play.

    Gabriel Jesus

    Great goal!

Kyle Walker finds Kevin de Bruyne, who slips the ball into Gabriel Jesus.

With Jesus' first touch he flicks it between his legs and around Trent Alexander-Arnold, spinning and toe-poking the ball into the bottom corner.

    City are level.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola slumps, shrugs his shoulders and bangs his arms against his sides. He is the picture of frustration at this point.

That's a good question by L in Essex. Aymeric Laporte probably and that's about it. You'd try to fit Raheem Sterling in but not sure you'd take out Sadio Mane or Mohamed Salah for him.

Looks like the Premier League will be won by the team that wins the most penalties

    Phil in Farnham

Klopp doing exactly what he said he would do, he won't defend the title, he'll attack it

With the exception of De Bruyne - is there any other City player that would get into this Liverpool team?

Let-off for Liverpool. Andy Robertson plays a woeful ball across the pitch and Joao Cancelo intercepts before racing into the box. But instead of passing to Raheem Sterling he slips - and the chance is over.

Sadio Mane does well to intercept a cross-field pass, possibly with his shoulder. But that's OK - T-shirt lines and all that.

Kevin de Bruyne is struggling to get on the ball, because of Liverpool's shape - they seem to be plugging holes everywhere. It's very difficult for those passes in between the lines. De Bruyne is trying to get in behind between Jordan Henderson and Gini Wijnaldum and finding it very difficult at the minute.

They have a shot now. Kevin de Bruyne plays a low cross to Raheem Sterling. Gabriel Jesus wants the ball pulled back but Sterling goes alone and shoots straight at Alisson from a bit of an angle.

City haven't had a shot yet. Gabriel Jesus has only seen the ball seven times.
