  2. 'I think I have another level to reach'published at 21:27 Greenwich Mean Time 8 November 2020

    Arsenal 0-3 Aston Villa

    Aston Villa

Aston Villa forward Ollie Watkins speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live: "We come out and had a great start, the disallowed goal we were very unlucky for the offside. Against a great team, we had to get our shape right and we did that tonight.

On the disallowed goal: "To be fair I thought he was in the way of the keeper but I don’t think he would’ve saved it either way, I thought it was harsh. You know when it goes to VAR it's not good news but I thought we dealt with it well.

On relationships within team: "We work on it in training, Jack Grealish is unbelievable on the ball I just have to make a run and hopefully the ball will come and he does find me more often than not so just got to keep making the runs and the goals will come.

On whether he's reached full potential yet: "I think I have another level in the second half you saw what I’m about, getting the ball, setting and spinning and making defenders run towards their own goal, that’s what I’m about so hopefully the more I can do that the more goals I can score."

  3. 'They're all blossoming really well'published at 21:26 Greenwich Mean Time 8 November 2020

    Arsenal 0-3 Aston Villa

    Aston Villa

Villa boss Dean Smith to Sky Sports: "It's a really pleasing performance. Lots of facets to it. It was a good defensive shift from the whole team. We caused them problems with some of our counter attacking.

"We didn't want them to have a nice easy game where they could pass it where they wanted. They're a good team.

"A lot better than last season [on their away form]. We couldn't keep a clean sheet last season. We've kept three from three this time.

"We're a threat with them [the attacking players] in the team. Really pleasing. They're all blossoming really well but there's more to come from them."

  5. 'We can beat anyone'published at 21:18 Greenwich Mean Time 8 November 2020

    Arsenal 0-3 Aston Villa

    Aston Villa

Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins speaking to Sky Sports: "It's a good three points here against a good side at the Emirates. We know they would pass and move it and we had to cut off the lines in midfield and I felt we did that and it gave us freedom to go and play.

"We've conceded a few goals the last couple of games and it's how you bounce back and we've done that tonight.

"I'm loving it [at Aston Villa]. There obviously may be some pressure, new signing and everyone wants you to perform but I just need to get my head down and get the goals."

How much more there is to come from Villa: "I think a lot, you've seen tonight and against Liverpool, we're a great side and we can beat anyone."

I think us fans will have to accept a bit of inconsistency among our teams this season. Best not to get too excited after a good win or too downhearted after a defeat. Arsenal were world beaters after beating us at OT last week, now we go above them if we win our game in hand. Everyone needs to calm down and just enjoy it!

Every time I see Villa, I think I need to sign some of their players in fantasy football. (But then I keep forgetting.)

Huge result for Aston Villa - totally deserving of the victory. 3-0 it was comfortable, it could've been more I was really impressed with their performance. Ollie Watkins, Jack Grealish, Ross Barkley were all excellent but the whole team were superb.

Villa have a free-kick which they're taking a good while over. Ross Barkley whips it in and it causes pure panic in the Arsenal area but they just about deal with it.

Difference with Arsenal and the rest of the "big" sides is they regularly just don't turn up and often get totally outplayed by lower league teams. Total lottery what you're going to get.

    Nigel

What annoys me is all the fellow Arsenal fans who said 'Arteta needs time', but aren't actually willing to give home any.

    Phil

As a Spurs fan, I am quite enjoying this. But, having seen us against West Ham, I can assure you it isn't over quite yet!
