Brilliant from Ollie Watkins, that's what you want from your centre-forward. He held off Gabriel, chested the ball down and kept possession until such time as that the only way Gabriel was going to win it was to foul him. Really good play from him.

Aviation Fan: Are these guys Strictly fans that are sad they are missing the results show or something? I've not seen an Arsenal side look this disinterested under Arteta.

Half an hour gone. 1-0 up villa should be 2. Yet still not a shot on goal. Odd game of football.

Yeah Arsenal have been really good defensively in recent months (for the most part). A far cry from the Unai Emery or later Arsene Wenger years.

Arsenal haven't really been any threat, it's really been Aston Villa who have been more creative. When you watch that goal back there's some great play by Villa, Jack Grealish, Ross Barkley and Matt Targett, but when you look at Arsenal's defence they're just standing off and watching it, watching it go in. That will be a big disappointment for Mikel Arteta, it should've been prevented.

Alistair: Great play from Villa but Willian was atrocious twice in that build up. Gives the ball away and then fails to clear. He brings nothing to the Arsenal team.

Dennis: Arsenal missing Xhaka tonight they got away with it at Old Trafford not sure they will here at the Emirates

Very well worked goal from Villa. There's a bit of luck initially, Ross Barkley makes his way away from the 18-yard box and it's that reverse pass to Matt Targett and he whips it across the far post. It's a very good goal from Aston Villa.
