Aston Villa are quick to push up, every time the ball goes in a backward direction Villa look to take those couple of steps out from the back and put pressure on the ball and so far it's been successful for them.

As things stand Aston Villa are sixth... but only three points behind leaders Leicester with a game in hand.

Villa look really good this season, don't they? It's some good play by Ollie Watkins and then Ross Barkley tries to turn Rob Holding in the box but the Arsenal defender does his job well.

What was that from Willian?

Pierre-Emerick Aubayemang crosses and Villa's Douglas Luiz heads it into the path of Willian, who snatches at a shot which literally goes about 12 yards wide.

Willian looks round for a corner. Nope mate, your shot was that bad.

Villa's first shot on target. John McGinn starts the move, Jack Grealish carries it on and Ross Barkley finds Trezeguet, whose shot is palmed away by Bernd Leno at his near post.

Thomas Partey was very subdued in the first half, I wonder if he's carrying something or picked something up in that first half because it was really a shadow of himself compared to what he's shown so far since he's been in an Arsenal shirt.

They have lost 1-0 to Manchester City and Leicester and then Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored a penalty as they beat Manchester United 1-0.

Nicolas Pepe's effort against Sheffield United on 4 October was their previous last league goal.

Arsenal have only won one of their six games under Mikel Arteta when trailing at half-time (D2 L4), while they have gone on to lose each of the previous four.

I've been impressed with Aston Villa's front four, their work rate - the rest of the team is also working hard but often your team performance and the game can be defined by your front three or four and how they are contributing to the defensive side. Jack Grealish, Ross Barkley, Trezeguet and Ollie Watkins have worked their socks off this first half.
