    Arsenal 0-1 Aston Villa

There's a VAR check. Was Ross Barkley interfering with play? He was between John McGinn and the keeper and was offside.

Kris: No offense but no keeper in the world is going to save that, so why rule it offside ?

Max: What a joke of a decision. No one was getting to that shot. No one was really interfering with play. I feel personally cheated.

As a gunner that was a good goal. Villa must feel robbed.

Would be interested to know if Pep would still be in favor of 5 subs if he managed at Fulham or Burnley. Would be another advantage for the top sides which have quality across the bench as well as the first 11.

Am I only one sick of top clubs moaning about fixtures? They all have squads of 25, half of whom barely play.rotate better, use youth etc and get on with it!

Arsenal have won their last three home league games against Aston Villa by an aggregate score of 12-2.

However, only Chelsea (5), Man City and Man Utd (4 each) have won more Premier League away games at the Emirates than Aston Villa (3).

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta, speaking to Sky Sports about naming an unchanged side: "The boys have been performing well and been giving me headaches but we think this is the right team to start.

"We need to put back-to-back wins now, we want to sustain a good level and be higher up the table. Let's do it."

Aston Villa could win three consecutive Premier League away fixtures for the first time since April 2010.

However Villa can become only the third club in top-flight history (and the first since the 1800s) to win their opening four matches and lose the next three.

  11. 'The difference was they got a penalty and we missed one'published at 19:04 Greenwich Mean Time 8 November 2020

    Man City 1-1 Liverpool

    Manchester City

City boss Pep Guardiola speaking to BBC's MOTD: "It was a tight game. We struggled in the first minutes because they had four players up front. Mane and Salah were playing between the lines then we adjusted after and had more control.

"The way they played and the way we behaved in response was incredible. I'm so proud of my players.

"The difference today was they got a penalty and we missed a penalty."

What he said to Jurgen Klopp after the whistle: "We talked about five substitutions. If people want to give microphones so we can give our opinions... English player... right-back is injured. There are many guys with many, many cases. Around the world five subs are key, but here it's totally the opposite. We've talked about this many times."

I was very impressed by Arsenal at Old Trafford last weekend. They fully deserved their win and Thomas Partey already looks a force in midfield.

After a good result like that, the Gunners need to push on and show they have eradicated the defensive mistakes that have cost them in the past. If they can stop them, then they will be right up there at the top of the table.

Yes, Arsenal can still improve their creativity, but manager Mikel Arteta is right to try to make them more solid first.

Aston Villa have leaked a few goals in the past couple of weeks and I would be surprised if they manage a clean sheet here.

Just the one change for Aston Villa as Trezeguet comes in for Bertrand Traore, who misses out because of injury.

  15. 'Draw is a fair result'published at 18:57 Greenwich Mean Time 8 November 2020

    Man City 1-1 Liverpool

    Manchester City

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola tells Sky Sports: "A tight game, they started well, we conceded a goal and conceded a penalty like at Leicester. It was tight, in the second half we had a more clear chances but a draw is a fair result.

"It is not easy to defend against Liverpool, normally they have three in attack and now four, they ran in behind and you cannot stay there and they play in between the players. It is not easy to play but we adjusted a bit and had more courage to stay high. We made a good goal and unfortunately we missed a penalty. In games or opponents like Liverpool, if you miss a penalty is it more difficult.

"Three games, three goals for Gabriel Jesus, he did not train much so he did really good.

"When you cannot win in 80-85 minutes, you cannot lose it. When you play against a contender like Liverpool, you have to try and win but you cannot lose. We know each other quite well.

"Trent Alexander-Arnold, international English player, now injured. Here we believe we are more special, we don't protect the players, so that is why it is a disaster. This calendar came from a year before and I will demand for players to come back otherwise it will be difficult to maintain it."

  16. Premier League 'has to change' quick fixture turnaroundpublished at 18:53 Greenwich Mean Time 8 November 2020

    Man City 1-1 Liverpool

    Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp also had his say on Manchester United's quick turnaround in fixtures and backed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's stance that it needs to be sorted.

"I have spoken to the Premier League. No team on a Wednesday night play away in the Champions League should have the 12:30 kick-off on Saturday," he told BBC Sport.

"Okay Sunday no problem, not the 12:30 on Saturday because you wake up and play football. This is the recovery phase. Premier League has to change it, Sky, BT, you everyone has to talk to each other.

"If you want to have good football then give the boys a few hours more.

"We had after the triple header in the international break we played 12:30. The boys played Wednesday night in Peru, that is not possible. Somebody has to start thinking."

  17. 'We were really good and dangerous' - Klopppublished at 18:51 Greenwich Mean Time 8 November 2020

    Man City 1-1 Liverpool

    Liverpool

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp speaking to Sky Sports: "Super football game to be honest. Two top teams ready for a massive fight - energy levels of both teams incredible. You could see after 10-15 mins everybody breathing (uh huhhh!). I'm really happy - City's lowest number of chances against us

The way the Reds started: "Top, top. We had counter attacking moments. So many. We obviously didn't finish it off which is a shame.

"To change a system to play City... the boys are ready to listen, adapt and perform. In a lot of moments we could have created bigger chances.

"We were really good and dangerous. We were ready to make little passes - there were moments we played too many long balls. Time to time we just wanted to get rid of the ball.

"Footballing-wise lots of good moments. Robbo could go 95 mins - energy level was incredible."

On the penalty: "I haven't seen it yet. Joe said, "I cant do anything."

  18. 'A top, top, top game'published at 18:50 Greenwich Mean Time 8 November 2020

    Man City 1-1 Liverpool

    Liverpool

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, speaking to BBC Sport: "It was an interesting game, a lot of tactical stuff on the pitch. Both teams played on an incredible energy level to close the other team down and use the few opportunities. I thought it was a top, top, top game.

"The plan is always to start fast, stay fast and finish fast but that is not always possible. City is a top team.

"I think it is the game with the lowest number of chances for City so far when we have played them. Clear cut chances they didn't have many and that is a proper compliment for the boys."

  19. 'Everyone finding it difficult to know where to put arms'published at 18:47 Greenwich Mean Time 8 November 2020

    Man City 1-1 Liverpool

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson to BBC Sport: "Coming here we knew it would be difficult, City are fantastic and intense game, overall we have to take the point and move on. It is always a difficult place to come, I would have liked a winner.

"We started really well, a lot of the time we do but especially today. the workrate and intensity was really good in the game, defensively solid and many positives in the game. We limited the problems they cause and hopefully after the international break we are back for another intense fixtures.

"Tactically we changed a little bit but not the intensity, that did not change. The front four were brilliant not only defensively but offensively they worked really hard too. That is why defensively we were so solid. We were waiting for the moment to win the ball back and find the winner but unfortunate did not get the chance to do that.

Is the rule clear on handball? "I don't think so, to be fair to the referees, the game before (Leicester v Wolves) they have been consistent with it. They are going to the letter of the law. For players it is harsh, I feel for defenders running back for the pace that Kevin de Bruyne cross, it is hard for him to get out of the way. Everyone is finding it difficult to know where to put their arms hopefully the refs can look at it and it shouldn't be given in both games."
