  1. Cheers for nowpublished at 22:23 Greenwich Mean Time 29 October 2020

That's all for tonight folks. It was another good night for Rangers and a decent one for Celtic, although there will be a few regrets that they could not hold on to their half-time lead in Lille.

The football returns on Saturday, with a couple of Premiership games and the Hibs v Hearts Scottish Cup semi-final at Hampden.

    We'll see you then...

  2. Gerrard delights in 'strong' Rangers displaypublished at 22:18 Greenwich Mean Time 29 October 2020

    FT: Rangers 1-0 Lech Poznan

Speaking on BT Sport, Rangers manager Steven Gerrard said: "It was a good performance I thought we were very strong. We've beaten a good team tonight. It's a big win, six out of six (points) and we start strong in the group."

On Alfredo Morelos matching Ally McCoist's European goal record for the club:

"Incredible. Ally McCoist is a legend at the club. The difference is Ally went on to win many awards. We hope Alfredo can one day add medals to his collection as well because he's a top class forward."

On Rangers' impressive defensive record this season:

"We want that to be our base for us to go and attack from. We don't want to be involved in basketball games when you've got to waste a lot of energy chasing the opposition. We want to be organised, set and aggressive, the players did that tonight."

Celtic manager Neil Lennon has a mixture of pride and frustration at his side's thrilling draw in France.

"I was delighted with our approach to the game," he says. "First-half, we were outstanding and on the counter-attack we could have won it.

"There was some great performances. It’s a point and keeps us very much alive in the group.

“It says a lot when you come here and are disappointed not to win."

Celtic defender Kristoffer Ajer looks set to miss that semi-final against Aberdeen after going off injured in the second half tonight.

“He felt his groin go, so it’s not great by the looks of things," explained manager Neil Lennon.

"We’ll have to see how long he’ll be out for. He’ll be a doubt for Sunday."

Rangers and Celtic will go again on Sunday.

  6. Roofe record gone already...published at 22:01 Greenwich Mean Time 29 October 2020

    FT: Rangers 1-0 Lech Poznan

Kemar Roofe didn't get much of a look in up front for Rangers before he was replaced by Alfredo Morelos.

It also sounds like his long-range beauty last week is no longer a Europa League record since Jordi Gomez of Omonia Nicosia thumped one in from even further out this evening.

Ah well, it was nice while it lasted... And I'm sure he'll never forget that strike against Standard Liege.

Rangers make it two wins from two in Europa League Group D thanks to that second-half header from substitute Alfredo Morelos.

It wasn't a classic but Steven Gerrard's men were once again extremely well organised on their way to a 14th clean sheet in 17 games this season and Borna Barisic came up with a moment of magic when he delivered the perfect cross for Morelos.
