The Republic of Ireland - Wales' next opponents in the Nations League on Sunday - fared less well in their warm-up friendly and have lost 3-0 away to England.

You do need those key players. Aaron Ramsey thrives off being pressed and playing in tight spaces, but these young players who have come in tonight will learn from that and improve for the experience.

I'm sure Ryan Giggs and Robert Page will realise there's a lot more to come from this group of players.

There is a lot more in us in an attacking sense and we're still feeling our way.

Chris Coleman had the same problem right up to the 2016 Euro qualifiers, we're still looking for that right formula.

You can't criticise this team with the results they've had. But if you play sides in the top 20 they will struggle, they're lacking that cutting edge.

No problems in defence, they just need that spark in attack.

Both managers will be satisfied with that, good work-out for both sets of players, some new faces introduced to international football, and no obvious injuries.

USA send on Wolves' Owen Otasowie and Reggie Cannon - are they bringing on the big gun?

  10. Postpublished at 84 mins

Will we get a late winner? It's been something of a Wales trademark of late and the substitutions have really added some oomph to the home side's threat level.

A little run-out for Joe Morrell, as he comes off the Wales bench to stretch his legs in place of Dylan Levitt

Dan James is so up for his cameo appearance, carving through and squaring for Harry Wilson who arrives at full pace but can't control the ball to get off a shot.

  14. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 79 mins

    Wales 0-0 USA

USA now send for Timothy Weah off the bench, the son of footballing great and current president of Liberia George Weah. Gio Reyna makes way. Nicholas Gioacchini is also on for Yunus Musah.

  15. GREAT SAVE!published at 73 mins

    Wales 0-0 USA

The substitutions from both camps are looking inspired tonight as Uly Llanez nearly breaks the deadlock, as Danny Ward goes full-stretch to his right to push his low shot round the post.

  16. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 71 mins

USA ring the changes now, with Johnny de Souza Cardoso and Uly Llanez on for Tyler Adams and Konrad de la Fuente.

  17. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 68 mins

    Wales 0-0 USA

Tom Lawrence stretches into a tackle and goes down with, hopefully for the Wales camp, what is no more than a bit of cramp. No chance taken with those two Nations League games to come over the next few days and Joe Rodon replaces him.

First cap and first lecture for John Sheehan as he flies into a tackle. He gets the ball but a fair chunk of the player. Can't fault the commitment though!

  19. GREAT SAVE!published at 63 mins

It's nearly a masterstroke by boss Robert Page, as Dan James intercepts a USA pass and sends Brennan Johnson away. The Lincoln City player almost has a goal on debut but Zack Steffen makes a fine save.

Brennan Johnson is on for his Wales debut, and he's the latest chip off the old block.

We've seen Gio Reyna - son of former Manchester City midfielder Claudio - play for the United States tonight.

On the US bench, meanwhile, is Timothy Weah, son of legendary ex-Milan and Chelsea striker George.

Johnson is another of footballing stock. His father is former Nottingham Forest and Jamaica striker David.
