One of the three Americans making their debut from the start tonight will be Borussia Dortmund forward Gio Reyna, who will become the third international in his family.

The 17-year-old is the son of two former US footballers, ex-Manchester City midfielder Claudio Reyna and Danielle Egan.

"I think the future's really exciting and I'm really happy to be here," said the younger Reyna.

"It's a bummer my parents won't be there - they're actually in Germany with me at the moment so they'll be watching from there.

"Of course I'd love to have them there and they'd love to be there but obviously certain things are more important than soccer at the moment and regardless it will still be a special day."

Assistant coach Robert Page will be in charge of Wales tonight - but he says absent manager Ryan Giggs will only be "a phone call away".

Giggs has agreed with the Football Association of Wales he will not be involved in this month's three matches.

He has denied an allegation of assault made against him.

"Ryan will have access to the games, but it's important while we are there we focus on the game," said Page.

"There is enough experience in the coaching staff to be able to go and get through these three games.

"If we need some input or a conversation about anything, we know he is a phone call away."

The biggest footballing star from the United States right now is Chelsea attacking midfielder Christian Pulisic.

Tonight, however, the US will have to make do without the 22-year-old, who has returned to his club having struggled with a hamstring injury recently.

"He's a player that we are certainly going to miss and, with his quality, we wish we could have him on the field but that's not going to happen," said US head coach Gregg Berhalter.

"He's so focused on getting back on the field and all he wants to do is help the club and help his country."

This is the United States’ first game since February’s 1-0 win over Costa Rica. The only player remaining from that team is LA Galaxy midfielder Sebastian Lletget, the only Major League Soccer player in this squad.

Wales’ temporary manager Robert Page makes nine changes from last month’s 1-0 Nations League win in Bulgaria.

Midfielders Matt Smith and Harry Wilson are the only players retained, with Wilson suspended for Sunday’s Nations League match with the Republic of Ireland.

Men’s cap record holder Chris Gunters captains Wales on his 98th appearance for his country.

There is no place for Gareth Bale in the matchday squad but he is here at the Liberty Stadium.
