No need for the build-up there. Clattered into the wall.

  2. Postpublished at 54 mins

    Reading 0-2 Bournemouth

Arnaut Danjouma and Andy Rinomhota tangle. Off the ball.

Then Jefferson Lerma thunders forward and teases Rinomhota into a foul. Bournemouth free-kick.

Central position, about 22 yards out.

  3. Postpublished at 52 mins

    Bournemouth 0-2 Reading

Reading's holding midfielder Andy Rinomhota is like a cartoon dog chasing a postman whenever Dominic Solanke gets in between the lines. As soon as he hears the proverbial gate-click he's out to snaffle.

Solanke forced wide when he had the box in front of him. All down to the pressure.

Where will Bournemouth get their inspiration from?

    Bournemouth 0-2 Reading

Suffocating defence by Reading, they just swamp their defensive third and invite pressure.

Bournemouth get to the edge of the box but lack a bit of patience to unlock the lines.

  6. Postpublished at 48 mins

    Bournemouth 0-2 Reading

Sone Aluko is everywhere for Reading, getting back to track Junior Stanislas down in his full-back position, and then driving forward to set up a counter-attack.

    Typifying the Reading effort.

  7. Early kick-offs updatepublished at 13:38 Greenwich Mean Time 21 November 2020

Gillingham 0-0 Charlton, Crawley 0-0 Carlisle

Gillingham's turn to go close in League One as Vadaine Oliver is denied by a stunning Ben Amos save, the Charlton keeper diving almost backwards to scoop the ball clear.

We're now also under way in neighbouring Sussex as Crawley face Carlisle in League Two.

  8. Postpublished at 46 mins

    Bournemouth 0-2 Reading

Lloyd Kelly has gone to left-back with Mepham in the centre of defence in Bournemouth's shuffle.

The big news is David Brooks has taken off his baselayer and gone short-sleeves.

  9. KICK-OFFpublished at 45 mins

    Bournemouth 0-2 Reading

Diego Rico is coming off, and Chris Mepham coming on for Bournemouth. Might be a switchabout there.

    Anyway, we're off. Bournemouth kick-off.

    HT: Bournemouth 0-2 Reading

Five subs that is, to implement should the two managers need it in this second, after the English Football League amended the rules in time for this weekend's games.

Second-tier clubs can name up to nine substitutes in matchday squads, with seven for the bottom two divisions.

    HT: Bournemouth 0-2 Reading

The saying 'possession is nine-tenths of the law' does not ring true in this game.

SIXTY-NINE percent of the ball has meant absolutely nothing to Bournemouth in a first half where they huffed and puffed, but could not blow the Royals down.

Reading are a lesson in economy of effort. Two goals, two shots on target. Two-tally satisfying for Veljko Paunovic.

  12. HALF-TIMEpublished at 13:20 Greenwich Mean Time 21 November 2020

    Bournemouth 0-2 Reading

So, Reading lead 2-0 at Vitality Stadium and two goals at either end of the half proves the difference.

The home side were behind early on when Asmir Begovic lopped down Alfa Semedo and Lucas Joao stepped up to rattle home from the spot.

Bournemouth dominated possession and continued to tap away at the Royals' armour but failed to make it count...

...and it proved costly, as a strike by Sone Aluko doubled the lead. Advantage Reading, the league leaders.

  15. League One updatepublished at 13:18 Greenwich Mean Time 21 November 2020

    Gillingham 0-0 Charlton

No goals in Kent so far, but Charlton have gone mighty close to taking a first-half lead.

Marcus Maddison tries his luck with a free-kick from long range and is only denied a stunning opener by the crossbar.

  16. Postpublished at 45 + 2 mins

    Bournemouth 0-2 Reading

Bournemouth yet to be beaten at home this season and yet they're 2-0 down here.

They've been the dominant side but not enough chances created.

It's been a definite 'away' performance from Reading. Textbook execution.

  17. Postpublished at 45 mins

    Bournemouth 0-2 Reading

Alfa Semedo goes down and gets some treatment. Now he's trying to run off an injury.

Reading will be chuffed with that. They soaked up so much pressure and then hit Bournemouth with a snap-shot.

    Four minutes of added time.

    Sone Aluko

Sone Aluko celebrates his goalImage source, PA Media

Wow. Another suckerpunch and it's another fine finish.

Bournemouth fail to clear a long pump forward, and Ovie Ejaria drives forward before slipping a wonderful pass through to Sone Aluko who makes a great run.

He keeps his cool to finish past Asmir Begovic and score.

    Brilliant.

  19. Postpublished at 42 minbs

    Bournemouth 0-1 Reading

Lucas Joao has done plenty of defensive work so far, like a totem pole at the near post to nod balls away from danger.

Reading coping comfortably, their full-backs in particular running themselves into the ground so far.

  20. Postpublished at 40 mins

    Bournemouth 0-1 Reading

Bournemouth carve their way into the Reading box through Dominic Solanke, bundling his way through Liam Moore but his cut-back is blocked behind.

Junior Stanislas plays the short corner to Jack Stacey and it zips straight to Rafael.

    Another short-corner, another disappointing outcome.

Tomas Esteves blocks Arnaut Danjuma's break on the opposite side and Bournemouth get another corner.
