  1. Is 'streaky' tag thing of past for Robins?published at 14:57 Greenwich Mean Time 5 December 2020

Bristol City v Birmingham (15:00 GMT)

It's been a funny old start to the season for Bristol City, who followed four successive victories with a five-game winless run.

Head coach Dean Holden spoke in the week of the importance of ridding themselves of that 'streaky' tag, established under his predecessor Lee Johnson following a number of long winning and losing runs.

A 3-1 defeat - and poor performance - at Reading last Saturday may well have set alarm bells ringing that another 'streak' was just around the corner, although they just about managed to buck the trend by coming from behind to beat QPR on Tuesday.

Today they face a Birmingham side who've been much more consistent. Blues have regularly struggled for goals and won just three times all season.

Knowing the Championship, everything points towards an away victory today, then?

  2. QPR looking to avoid three defeats in a rowpublished at 14:55 Greenwich Mean Time 5 December 2020

    Huddersfield v QPR (15:00 GMT)

These two sides are only separated by a point with Huddersfield sitting in 16th and QPR in 17th.

Huddersfield will be looking to bounce back after a disappointing 3-0 loss at Cardiff on Tuesday.

The Terriers are unbeaten in their last five league matches against today's visitors though.

QPR are looking to avoid three defeats on the bounce but Mark Warburton has not got the best records when visiting Huddersfield.

The R's boss has lost both of his two away league matches at the John Smith’s Stadium as a manager, losing with Brentford in 2014 and QPR in February this year.

  3. Big game for both sides near the foot of the tablepublished at 14:53 Greenwich Mean Time 5 December 2020

    Coventry v Rotherham (15:00 GMT)

Coventry go into today's game drawing their last two games 1-1 scoring an injuring time equaliser against Derby in their last outing.

The Sky Blues sit four points above the drop zone with just a point separating them and today's opponents but are unbeaten in their last four league games

Rotherham need a win today if they are to leapfrog Coventry.

The Millers are in desperate need of a win, only picking up a point in their last four matches.

  4. Can Tom Barkhuizen continue good form for Preston?published at 14:50 Greenwich Mean Time 5 December 2020

    Preston v Wycombe (15:00 GMT)

    Tom BarkhuizenImage source, Rex Features

Preston looked very good in their last outing against Bournemouth, coming on top to claim their first win in three games.

They'll be hoping Tom Barkhuizen continues his good form - the forward has scored three in his last four league games.

Wycombe welcomed fans back at Adams Park on in midweek but they went down 1-0 against Stoke.

The Chairboys remain in the relegation zone and the omens are not looking good.

They are winless in their last 12 competitive matches against Lilywhites who have won their last five matches against Wycombe in all competitions, with this their first meeting since 2018 in the FA Cup, a 5-1 win.

  5. Swans eye consistencypublished at 14:49 Greenwich Mean Time 5 December 2020

    Swansea v Luton (15:00 GMT)

    Andre AyewImage source, Rex Features

It's been a bit of a topsy-turvy few weeks for play-off hopefuls Swansea.

The Swans have drawn one, won one and lost one of their past three matches

They'll be looking to get back on track today against a Luton side who have won three of their seven away matches this season.

  6. Boro rest Watmore after midweek doublepublished at 14:47 Greenwich Mean Time 5 December 2020

    Stoke v Middlesbrough (15:00 GMT)

    Duncan WatmoreImage source, Rex Features

Something of a sign of the times at Stoke today as Middlesbrough boss Neil Warnock drops Duncan Watmore to the bench after his double in the win over Swansea in midweek.

All the teams are having to manage their players' workload in this congested season, even ones led by Neil Warnock.

Both teams are in decent form and a win for either could see them finish the day in the top six depending on other results.

  7. Bees buzzing to visit new homepublished at 14:45 Greenwich Mean Time 5 December 2020

    Brentford v Blackburn (15:00 GMT)

    BrentfordImage source, Rex Features

It's a brilliant day for all fans getting to see their team play live today but it's extra special for the 2,000 supporters who will be at the Brentford match.

This will be their first visit to their team's brand new Community Stadium.

Their team is in fine form too, with three straight wins having propelled them up into the top six.

Opponents Blackburn have also won their past three games and are the division's joint top scorers with 29 goals.

Hopefully a cracker for this stadium's first game with fans in attendance.

  8. Hornets host unpredictable Bluebirdspublished at 14:40 Greenwich Mean Time 5 December 2020

    Watford v Cardiff (15:00 GMT)

    Vladimir IvicImage source, Rex Features

Watford missed the chance to go top on Wednesday when they could only draw 0-0 at lowly Nottingham Forest.

Despite that minor setback, Vladimir Ivic's men are in good form and have won six and drawn one of their seven home games so far this season.

They face a Cardiff side who are just about the epitome of midtable so far.

The Bluebirds have won five, drawn five and lost five and are 12th.

  9. Norwich look to bounce back after Hatters horror showpublished at 14:36 Greenwich Mean Time 5 December 2020

Norwich v Sheff Wed (15:00 GMT)

    Daniel FarkeImage source, Rex Features

Norwich fell to a surprise 3-1 midweek defeat at Luton with boss Daniel Farke concerned the referee's decisions may have been swayed by the 1,000 Hatters fans back in attendance.

He'll be glad that the shoe is on the other foot today then as the Canaries welcome back 2,000 of their own supporters to Carrow Road.

Victory today will send them back to the Championship summit after they were deposed yesterday following Bournemouth's thumping 4-0 win at Barnsley.

Sheffield Wednesday's are yet to record victory under new boss Tony Pulis but have drawn their past three games.

However, they need wins if they're to climb away from the bottom three before Christmas.
